I was drooling over this blush for quite some time. Too many beauty-bloggers were raving about this shade saying that it was perfect without any hint of orange. Also, they said it blended out really well and the price was affordable. I didn't have any contouring products at that time yet. I used only powders with darker shades or bronzer from my sister for this purpose
Shortly before New Years I went to the NYX store to buy an eyeshadow palette and remembered about this blush. It was easy to find it. The tester of my shade was almost empty. This is how popular Taupe is.
The product comes in a small package with 4.5 g.
I was so underwhelmed when I saw that it was to use within only 6 months after unpacking! I know for sure that I won’t use it up till this moment. I apply just a small amount when my makeup is on. Well, actually I doubt that I’ll toss it in the garbage in just 6 months.
I keep it in my makeup bag but the plastic material doesn’t get any scratches. It closes securely with a click. It has a clasp in the form of a bow. Some girls find it cute. As for me, I don’t care what the packaging looks like. What matters is that the product is good and the package closes tightly.
The blush was covered in a plastic film, which means that nobody touched your blush before.
The shade is very nice. It’s gray-brown without any hint of orange. Your cheekbones won’t look brick-red. The blush blends out and layers really well:
You can both define your cheekbones slightly and make them look Maleficent-like. At first I couldn’t apply the product properly. The blush was highly-pigmented, but after a while I got the hang of it.
The blush is just a little bit dusty when picking it up with a brush, but it’s not an issue for me. You can see it in the picture.
When I started using this blush, I applied it to my cheekbones only. After a while I decided to darken my forehead a little bit, then the wings of my nose and later the bridge of it. Thus I started contouring my whole face.
Before/After
In the first picture you can see my face with a BB cream only. In the second one there is powder, blush and highlighter on. I don’t know if I do everything right, but I apply powder to my whole face with a brush first. After that I use Taupe blush for my cheekbones, the edges of my forehead and the wings of my nose. Finally I apply the highlighter to the middle of my forehead, a little bit above the cheekbones, the tip and bridge of my nose and to the cupid’s bow. I use E.L.F. Baked Highlighter for that. As a result, my face looks fresher, my nose thinner and my cheekbones more defined.
I love that no sharp contours are visible. If I overdo the product applying it to my cheekbones, I simply blend it out with my fingers till the sharp line disappears.
The product is well worth every dollar. This blush for contouring is such a godsend for me and I’m glad I found it!
Here is my total look
Highly recommended for everyone
