To start, I’m not much of a beauty junkie. As a rule, I prefer some low-key, natural and inexpressive looks that I proudly call ‘nude makeups’ to feel more comfortable.
That’s why I probably associate black eyeliners with school days when almost everyone was emphasizing the lower waterline of his/her eyes. I was no exception.
Well, enough said. The only thing I mean by this all is that this eyeliner would have been a hit among the ‘under-emo’ community back in the day.

NYX products come perfectly packed as always. The package is actually so perfectly packed that I have to go to the kitchen and use a knife to open it up.
I don’t know how other girls do this, but I simply can’t open it properly and without any working tools.

The eyeliner is housed in a plastic tube as many other similar products of the brand.
It’s not MECHANICAL as it seems at first glance, so you should have a good sharpener at home.
One of the reviewers said that this pencil was not easy to sharpen.
Lifehack from me: If your sharpener doesn’t deal well with soft pencils, put the pencil in a refrigerator for a while. It helps.
The cap is matte this time, so it will be easily identified among the other similar NYX eyeliners. When I looked at it closely, I noticed that the holographic writing overflows in the sun beautifully. It’s such a trifle, but so pretty.

By the way, you’ll have to sharpen it quite often. The eyeliner is soft and runs low too fast. It applies to my skin very softly and delicately and the payoff is amazing.
The glistening particles are relatively big, but they don’t scratch my skin as I thought they would.

I won’t call this shade pitch-black, but it’s alright.
There is a good deal of shimmer to it. I mean a really good deal of it. It ensures this metallic-like effect. However, it doesn’t make it look so metallic. It’s more like a black eyeliner with fine shimmer to it.
Initially I was planning to draw a small line and emphasize my lash line with it, but as soon as I took this stuff in my hands, I couldn’t help it…

I worked with an angled synthetic brush to draw my lash line. I usually used this brush for defining my brows.
Then I drew the lower waterline of my eyes with this pencil and blended it out with a brush.
Note: The shimmer is not really visible in reality. The color looks just a little bit more ‘alive’ than a matte eyeliner. It glows quite pretty in the sun.
As a result, my makeup looks like if I’m back at school of those days:

But you know what… I’d like to repurchase it. I just love how the eyeliner applies to my waterline and how easily it blends out. Moreover, it stays put. Here is the result after 4 hours and a few accidental rubbings:

Yeah, I would’ve sold my soul to the devil if I were back at school. Yes, it smears a tiny bit in the corners of my eyes, but the results are still incredible taking into account my constantly watering eyes. You can take it from me.
It claims to be waterproof for a reason. However, I was a little bit sorry that it was waterproof when I was trying to wash it off in the evening.
I had to remove it with micellar water and then with a cleansing oil. However, it’s a usual procedure for me, when it comes to removing long-wearing mascaras, etc.

I sharpened it once and it sufficed for the whole makeup and swatches. Next time I use it I’ll have to sharpen it again.
I loved this eyeliner and I’m going to use it further on. Additionally, I recently gravitate towards grunge makeups.
This eyeliner will also be good for drawing lines, but you’ll have to use a brush for drawing the tail.

Anyway, I sincerely recommend this stuff. It’s a decent eyeliner that beats all the other eyeliners I had by a mile.
