Recently it’s become popular to have an ombre pout. NYX PROFESSIONAL MAKEUP has released a ready-made lipstick to save us from choosing the matching colors.
Volume: 0.45 g + 0.14 g
Design: It’s a plastic double-ended stick. On the one end there’s a lip liner, on the other lipstick. The retractable tip works well, but the pencil lead could’ve been better fixed.
There are 12 shades in the color range. I’ve got Peaches and Cream (OLD05) and Hollywood and Wine (OLD11)
The manufacturer gave an instruction here. You can either follow it or make an ombre effect by yourself.
NYX OMBRE LIP DUO Peaches and Cream (OLD05)
It’s a coral and orange lipstick.
The stick is soft and it lines the lips evenly and smoothly. The lippie is somewhat melting and it emphasizes the lip lines due to the color probably.
Sometimes it ends up with white streaks, but sometimes it doesn’t. It doesn’t dry your lips or makes you feel uncomfortable.
How to make an ombre pout?
I follow the instruction. I line the perimeter with a lip liner and then fill in the center of the lips with the lipstick.
Now it’s time to blend the colors together either using a brush, finger or lips themselves.
OMBRE LIP DUO Hollywood and Wine (OLD11)
It’s a cherry and pink lipstick
The lip liner is a little drier than the the first shade. It leaves some clumps during the application process sometimes too but the lipstick is better here. It looks perfect on you, unless you have dry lips.
Hollywood and Wine has the same properties as the previous shade, except that it doesn’t wear off in the internal side of the lips.
Lasting power: 4 hours. It last well through eating and drinking.
The lipstick can be easily removed with micellar water with no traces of it left.
Conclusion: As it often happens, the quality depends on the particular shade. I think that this product is good. I like the idea of it, especially with the Hollywood and Wine shade.
