OFRA Cosmetics X Nikkietutorials Highlighter - review

I want to say it right here - highlighters are my favorite makeup item.

For 4 long and happy years, I was using my all-time favorite highlighter from Laura Mercier in the shade #02 but then I just realized I had to go for something new for me.

At first, I used one of the shades from the eyeshadow palette from By Terry but then eventually got that I needed a standalone product for that.

I knew about the OFRA highlighter. It was said to be super long-wearing and intensively glowing.

Ofra Gaito, a therapist and makeup artist, entered the beauty industry in 1979. During the years she lived in South Africa, Ofra worked in the field of aesthetics. She traveled and completed several courses with well-known cosmetic brands in Germany, France, and United States – including earning her prestigious, postgraduate, CIDESCO course in Johannesburg. The CIDESCO diploma remains the worlds highest, qualifying certification in the field of Esthetics and Beauty Therapy that can be achieved by an individual. As a certified CIDESCO recipient, Ofra analyzes the skin as well as the body and this distinction has positively shaped her cutting-edge, career path.

And that was exactly what hooked me! I also read that all her makeup is hypoallergenic and that was the last catch for me.

Let’s start with the packaging

I’m always for minimalist packages and want my makeup look neat and aesthetic. Besides, when you splurge for an item you naturally put it as the main criteria.

The packaging is matte, white with the silver brand name on it.

Inside it has a 4g refill pan and a mirror. The mirror is nice in quality and it’s almost full lid length. I find it handy when I’m on the go and want to apply this product.

The shade is said to be light beige. In fact, it’s more warm-toned and golden beige. In the picture, you can see it with my favorite highlighter:

That’s obvious OFRA is warmer and the shimmer is chunkier but it never appears chunky on my face. I get that the grain is worse but it doesn’t at all affect the skin finish.

Pigmentation- It’s dope! The formula is dusty but I can live with it. The application is easy-breezy. I use it to apply on my brow bone with the ZOEVA #227 brush. I use the ZOEVA #127 brush to apply it on my face.

The finish is so beautiful and glowing - natural and delicate. It stays on an entire day.

Overall thoughts:

This is an excellent highlighter.

It’s even rather affordable for a high-end brand.

I use it with pleasure and plan to buy their eyeshadow as well.
