I’m not gonna complain and whine about the rainy and cold June. Instead, I’ll tell you how I’m trying to cheer myself up, particularly with cosmetics.
Coral lipsticks, warm bronzers, golden highlighters and bronze smokey eyes - that’s my answer to the cold . The Rimmel Good to Glow Highlighter was bought due to the lack of sun and now I’ll tell you a story of how it couldn’t help me.
There are three shades of the product available : Notting Hill Glow (silver pink), Piccadilly Glow (which I bought) and Soho Glow (bronze pink). Each shade can be used separately as well as in a mix with a foundation.
I was attracted by the peach shade with golden shimmer particles - #002 Piccadilly Glow. The highlighter has a gel consistency and easily spreads on the skin, with fingers, a cosmetic sponge or brushes.
It contains a lot of shimmer particles of various sizes. Even though they glitter very beautifully on the hand, it doesn’t look good on the face. I hardly use this highlighter to define cheekbones.
That’s how these big particles look
I use the product mostly in a mix with a foundation. It provides a dewy glow and the shimmer particles look appropriate, when they are scattered on the whole face.
The two products must be mixed either on the hand or on a sponge. I don’t recommend applying them together right onto the face, as it would be hard to avoid a streaky result.
When mixed with Good to Glow, the foundation becomes lighter and makes my skin look fresh. The highlighter doesn’t affect the lasting power of the foundation.
I wouldn’t say I like the Good To Glow Highlighter. But I wasn’t disappointed, either. I use the product quite rarely, but I’m usually satisfied with the results, especially when I mix the Good to Glow Highlighter with a matte foundation.
