What’s up guys!
It’s such a tricky task to find a good foundation for problematic skin of fair color. But today I want to tell you about a product that really lives up to all my demands. Meet the SHISEIDO Synchro Skin Lasting Liquid Foundation.
Product claims:
Reveal your beauty by responding to your skin.
A smart, oil-free, long-lasting foundation that beautifully enhances your complexion. Maintains skin’s clarity while preventing shine, creasing and fading all day long. Flawlessly undetectable like it belongs to your skin, this innovative formula with medium, buildable coverage and a modern matte, natural finish feels uniquely airy and silky on skin.
Dermatologist-tested.Non-comedogenic.
Outer appearance
The product was packed in a red cardboard box.
The tube is made of matte glass with a black top cap. It looks rather presentable, doesn’t it? The pump is fine and it works faultlessly (but I have to draw your attention that it starts staining the top cap with the product some time after, which can be a little bit of a problem if you’re a perfectionist.) I also really like that the pump always dispenses the right amount of the product.
Size: 30 ml. I guess it’ll be enough for 4 months.
Made in Japan.
There are a lot of shades in the collection and they offer us 3 undertones here - neutral, pink and yellow. I’ve got the fairest shade with a neutral undertone which is called N1 Neutral. This shade matches my skin perfectly well and I really like that my skin looks as though made of porcelain with it, yet at the same time it doesn’t look too white or anything.
This is why I actually love the SHISEIDO brand so much - they give such a variety of shades, even for those who are Snow Whites and are really fair-skinned.
I also want to highlight the SPF 20, which isn’t high though, but will be fine for a city dweller.
Consistency
The product has a runny consistency (shake it well before use) which was rather surprising for me. I used to choose thicker texture-wise foundations to conceal my acne and other skin blemishes. But I didn’t even have a thought that a thicker layer was more obvious and visible on my skin for other people. And here the best decision will be to treat the problem but not try to conceal it.
Coming back to the consistency description I have to say that this liquid texture is nice here, as the product will flatter all skin types and will be easy to blend out on the skin.
There aren’t any chunky particles or shimmer bits to the product. They are present only in a similar foundation by SHISEIDO SYNCHRO SKIN (the tubes look the same) which is a fluid with a natural glow effect.

This photo is for those who understand in the components of cosmetic products:
Smell
The smell is pretty difficult to make out - it’s very light and cosmetic-like.
Use
The product is better to apply over your clean and primered skin.
You can apply it with your fingers, beautyblender or duo-fibre brush. Choose a tool which is the most convenient for you to use and what coverage you want to get.
Most of all I like the beautyblender application, as it gives very beautiful, lightweight and even coverage over my skin. At the same time the product offers a build-able formula and I can always layer it for a thicker coverage.
before (here you can see some occasional break outs because of the badly chosen face moisturizer)
with makeup on. The foundation was applied without a primer
This foundation matches my skin tone really nicely! There’s no color difference between my face and neck. I like setting it with a loose powder, but if you’re a fan of a dewy finish, then this product may not suit you.
I usually remove my makeup with a cleansing oil, then I use a facial foam cleanser or a gel.
It’s very easy and simple to work with this foundation.
In my opinion the product goes a long way. I use it 3 or 4 times a week pairing with some other foundations that I have.
Results
From this product I expected a good coverage, natural-looking finish and even skin tone. And I assure that I do get all that!
If you have severe flaking (and not only severe, though) this foundation will definitely show it. In general, is there a foundation in the world that won’t show flakey skin at all?
It doesn’t clog my pores which is nice, yet it can settle there if you don’t use a makeup primer.
No mattifying results. It doesn’t affect the oily shine either. I’m already accustomed to using a blotting paper somewhere in the middle of the day, as my skin is very oily.
The product gives average coverage, counting that it’s very lightweight texture-wise. You’ll still have to use your concealer to hide well-visible skin blemishes.
Price
$45 but I guess that you can find it discounted.
I do recommend this Synchro Skin Lasting Liquid Foundation for purchasing! I assess it with 4 stars, as it still isn’t perfect in all the respects.
