Today I’m reviewing my favorite versatile product for lips and cheeks by Smashbox in the color Mauve. I’ve just fallen in love with this stick for its multipurpose use and quality. I’ve been using it for more than half a year and I can’t imagine using any other blush product.
For a long time I hesitated to buy this blush. The price of $29 was too hefty and I was waiting for a sale or something to get it discounted. And it finally came and I bought the product cheaper which was so great especially for the blush of such a great quality.
A great advantage of this product is that it’s creamy and can be used as a lipstick. Well, even if used as a blush, the texture is so nice that I don’t have any problems with blending. By the way, it’ll be difficult to overdo and apply too much of this product, in comparison with powder blush, for example, which I can’t stand.
Creamy textures create a more natural finish than powders. If you apply a little and blend it out thoroughly, it’ll look as a natural flush. It holds on my skin the entire day. Maybe my dry skin is the reason for that fantastic staying power but I’m not so sure about that.
When I use this blush, I feel more confident, as though I’m wearing some expensive perfume or shoes. You know it happens when you use some high-end and luxury product.
On the other side of the stick there’s a special blending sponge. Honestly I can’t make out how to use it and I presume that it “eats” too much of the product hence blends it out patchy.
So, I prefer using my versatile brush by NYX, or just blend it out with my fingertips if I’m in a hurry.
The color of the product is intense and bright, though it becomes very delicate and adjustive to the skin tone once you blend it out. If I don’t set it with powder I can see that beautiful blush on my skin the entire day.
