Hello there
“Matte finish” and “comfortable wear” ---if you think that both these factors are equally important, then welcome to my review. Today I’ll make a review of a very trendy lip product. I love everything about it - starting from the packaging and finishing with the wear aspects.
E.L.F. Matte Lip Color
PACKAGING: Black matte box looks decent as well as the product inside, indeed. You can be sure that it’ll arrive to you safe and sound.
The lippie looks like a jumbo pencil, except that you won’t probably succeed at contouring your lips with it, as the bullet is too big for it.
The product has a good twist up, though I admit that the bullet hangs about the stick a little, so it’s better not to twist it up very much.
On the other end, they placed a sharpener. It’s the first time I see such a sharpener and I prefer not to use it as it wastes too much of the product.

OUTER CHARACTERISTICS:
Shade - Natural
Texture - creamy, the stick easily gives enough pigment.
In the swatch I tried my best to show you how the product looks if layered up with a thicker coverage.
In this photo the color looks the most true to life, as I usually see it on my lips:
Attention:
Reading the reviews of this lippie I came to the conclusion that the technical characteristics completely depend on the product’s shade. So the impressions of use and quality of the product might be completely different.
IMPRESSIONS OF USE AND THE RESULT:
My lips tend to be dry, but I adore matte lipsticks, so I always try to find as comfortable in wear products as possible. I also have to use lip balms and chapsticks all the time.
This very lippie can easily be nominated to be called the most comfortable to wear lipsticks: of course it doesn’t provide any care to my lips, but at the same time it doesn’t bring any harm to them either. The Natural shade is rather well packed with pigment and it easily covers up my natural lip color. I heard them calling this very product “My Lips But Better kind of shade”. I’d say that this is an absolutely neutral nude shade and depending on the lights it’ll look more warm- or cool-toned.
My Impressions:
the lippie is easy to apply as well as wear on the lips
No dryness or peeling accentuation. But keep in mind that the product doesn’t look good on chapped lips, so it’s better to exfoliate beforehand (I’m talking about severe peeling. If you simply have dry lips, then the product will not require too much attention).
No need to use a lip liner, as the texture applies well itself
A small nuance: if you have very bright natural lip pigment then the product might show a small white residue on the lips within a few hours of wearing. And it won’t be visible on pale lips
No lip drying. No discomfort feelings while wear - only total comfort.
Lasting power
5 hours for sure
(talking/drinks/some light kisses)
Of course the product fades once it touches fatty food - though the fading is graceful and there’s no need to stream to the toilet to touch-up. You’ll still be very beautiful. 😉
Washing off
The pigment doesn’t leave stains hence the lippie is very easy to remove with micellar water or cleansing oil.
Price: about $4
