Contouring is all the rage nowadays. I find face contouring very useful since my cheeks are quite big.
So today we’ll speak about the palette that can be handy in real life as well as while photo-shoots. So, please meet the Smashbox Step-By-Step Countour Kit.
The packaging is rather usual and sound. It’s plastic and the scratches appear very quickly on it. I find this palette travel-friendly, since for the 3-product palette, this one is compact and small. There’s a brush included but I don’t use it a lot. I don’t like the way it blends out the products and it sheds.
The palette consists of three powder products: contour, bronzer and highlighter. They’re all nicely-milled and don’t dust while taking out. The pigmentation is good, so be careful not to overdo!
Contour: This one is a perfect grayish-taupe color. It’s very intense and easy to blend. With its help I can effortlessly define my cheekbones and make my face look thinner in general. The color resembles D&G 22 Tan, so if this one is too pricey for you, then you can easy-breezy swap it with the Smashbox one.
Bronzer: it’s also a well pigmented product. It’ll suit better tanned or swarthy girls. It looks a tad red on my face but that’s not a problem at all. If I apply this bronzer with a big and fluffy brush, then it looks very natural!
Highlighter: it’s a milky-beige colored powder with a light satin finish. I can’t say that this is a “real highlighter”. No, for me it’s more a setting powder for my under-eye concealer.
And now let’s have a look at the products in action. Foundation on my face:
I applied the contour to define my cheekbones and blended it out. On my under-eye area I applied the highlighter from the same Smashbox palette.
And here I applied some bronzer with a big fluffy brush all over my face and neck, paying special attention to my cheekbones, forehead, nose and chin. In total it looks like the following:
