Pros: beautiful and handy case, convenient included brush, easy to blend, flatters any skin color, good colors, instruction, matte products
Cons: matte highlighter, no chance to buy refills, no shimmer to bronzer, pricey

I want to tell you about my results of using the Smashbox Contour Kit. This kit is aimed at face contouring to define beautiful features and hide imperfections.

The kit was packed in a box, inside of which there was a instruction guide, angled brush and the kit itself. Regrettably I don’t have the box anymore, but I’ll show you the other products out of it. Smile I use this kit everyday by the way and find it very economical.

Highlighter:

This is the most frequently used product by me. With its help I highlight my under eyes, bridge of the nose, forehead and chin. I don’t quite like the fact that there’s no shimmer to it but that’s my subjective point. It highlights well by the bye.

Bronzer:

I don’t use it often, as I think it looks red on me. If I do, I apply the tiniest bit of it since my complexion is fairly pale. In the photo I applied it under my cheekbones and near the temples. And once again I think that the bronzing powder should be infused with some shimmer to it.

Contour:

I contour my nose and cheekbones with it. It has a good neutral and natural color. This product mimics the shadows of my face greatly. I like it a lot.

Color payoff:

I’m rather confused by this fact, you know. On the one hand the colors aren’t very well-pigmented, but on the other, if I apply it more, the colors will be visible in any angle of the light.

I can overdo with these products, especially if I don’t blend them out properly or apply on the wrong areas, I mean lower or higher than where needed.

Brush:

The brush is good and there hasn’t been a bristle fall out after 5 months of use. It’s angled and there’s a lettering of Smashbox of the handle. If you need to apply a thin line, on your nose, for example, this brush won’t work there. It’ll be better to use a usual shadow brush.

Product amount:

The kit has quite big mirror inside. I can see my entire face there. There is a lot on the products in the pans but the highlighter is the most usable one and there’s less of it left, while the bronzer is almost untouched. And here comes the first disadvantage. You can’t buy the refills for the kit or products separately. I don’t find it wise to buy another kit when I run out of highlighter only and there will still be enough of the bronzer and contour left.

Instruction Guide:

It’s very detailed and I like it.

Typically speaking I like this contour kit. Smashbox products are always of a good quality. Will I repurchase this kit? Probably I will but only when I use up all three products. I wish I could buy them all separately or at least the refill pans… But alas I can’t.

Price: $45

I know it’s pricey but the contour makes my face look beautiful and cheekbones gorgeous. My skin is glowing from the inside and sun kissed.
