Hello gorgeous ladies!
Once I saw the first promo of the Smashbox and Vlada MUA collection (Vlada Haggerty is a blogger and a Goddess of lip art), I fell for it once and for all. It looked so stunning and mine, so to speak, that at first, I was literally ready to splurge on every collection item.
But once the first swatches started to appear online, I started to back off. However, I still couldn’t resist this highlighter and decided to grab it for my collection.
Today I’ll tell you about it.
Meet the Smashbox + Vlada Petal Metal Highlighter:
Of course, I can’t help but mention the design of it. Oh, it’s so alluring!
The compact is made of plastic of a rose gold color, the top cap is adorned with an extensional rose and draining drop (this is the branded Vlada’s sign of lip arts).
The top cap opens a little bit more than with just 90 degrees, inside it houses a small mirror.
Size - 10g.
Made in Italy.
Inside this beauty casing we can also find the alluring contents.
The surface of the highlighter refill is identical to the print on the top cap.
For the first two weeks, I couldn’t let myself use it, because I was too afraid to damage that beauty of the highlighter surface. But all my fears were in vain because after 1.5 months of use the rose still looks the same.
Even though the highlighter is dry to the touch, it’s still soft and gentle texture-wise. It’s tightly pressed and doesn’t dust a lot. The pigmentation is average, which is a pro for me here. That’s why layering the product I can see a nice polished looking skin.
It can accentuate skin texture a little, yet still not as much as many other metallic highlighters can do.
All in all the collection offers 3 highlighter shades. For me, I chose the fairest shade called Gilded Rose.
It’s a sheer-based, gentle rose gold duochrome shade. It’s stunningly beautiful!
This shade shows the smallest glistening bits, which are barely detectable on the skin with the naked eye and will fit into even daytime makeup.
In the sun these bits become more visible. They show such a fantastic glow.
Unfortunately, I can’t find any similar shade in my highlighter collection, that’s why I show you a small comparison with other highlighters from my stash, to compare their texture.

I adore the effect on my skin which gives me the Smashbox + Vlada Petal Metal Highlighter.
It applies so nicely that it literally feels like it polishes my skin.
Yet at the same time, the glow looks rather delicate but still visible. Of course, it doesn’t look so active as the Fenty Beauty Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter,
The staying power is about 7-9 hours. Then the glow becomes less visible and before my makeup removing I can see my highlighter only on my brow bone, unfortunately, it completely disappears from my cheekbones.
The Smashbox + Vlada Petal Metal Highlighter is a gem of my highlighter collection! The outer and inner design make me raving about it - beautiful effects, my favorite rose gold shade and a chic packaging. If you’re the same and a nuts cosmetic maniac, then you definitely need it. And if you’re looking for a highlighter for everyday wear and you don’t want it to be the most delicate in the world, then pay attention to it as well.
