During my travel around Australia I read about the Baume de Rose by Terry in a magazine. Before that I hadn’t heard anything about this product or brand. Since I’m a fanatic lip care lover, of course I started to desire to buy this magical lip balm.
The By Terry brand was founded by Terry de Gunzburg who used to be a part of the YSL team.
I can clearly remember how they described this balm in a magazine saying that it’s a must-have of Hollywood stars that nourishes, repairs and takes care of lips and that it’s almost the best thing that could ever happen to a mankind. Joking
When I came back to my town I ran to the local Sephora to buy this product. I was so curious!
Outer appearance:
The balm is packed in a small frosted glass jar.
I don’t actually like that I have to take out the product with my fingers (it’s nonhygienic) so I bought a special brush for it.
At the store I also saw the version of the Baume de Rose in a tube with a lip brush included by the way. But when I swatched it, I thought that it was less concentrated and opted for the classical one in a jar.
Inside:
The balm is of pastel-pink color with a tender rose scent.
Product claims:
This protective repairing balm offers complete lip care and regenerates nail contours. By Terry Baume De Rose has an intensive formula concentrated with precious active ingredients:
- Restructuring and soothing Essential Rose Wax.
- Nourishing and emollient Floral oils.
- Hydrating, anti-aging and smoothing Bio-ceramides .
- Anti-free radical and protective UV filters.
This product is also suitable for taking care of nail cuticles but I never apply it there. That doesn’t mean I don’t like my cuticles, no. It means that $55 product is just too much for cuticle care.
And on my lips this product works very well. I usually apply it overnight. The balm is comfortable on my lips. In the morning I have full and smooth to the touch lips. It also works well as a lipstick primer.
But I’m afraid that it won’t do well with very chapped or cracked lips.
Active ingredients:
Rose Essential Wax, Pastel Oil, Shea Butter, UV filters (SPF 15) and Vitamin E.
List of ingredients:
For me this product is just a balm which is pleasant to use or a treat. After I use up this jar, I doubt that I’ll repurchase. For the amount of money it costs, I’m sure that I can buy a better quality product. Like La Mer, for instance.
