Pros: convenient brush, nice shade
Cons: it doesn’t peel off with one and the same piece, it stains my eyelids, no staying power, pricey

As many other women, I adore and love cat eyes. In my book, the winged eyes is a perfect makeup trick to make my eyes look big, expressive and charming. In general, the cat flick always looks impressive.

As for me, eyeliner is a tool to make my naturally small eyes look wide awake. But I can also change the shape of them and make them seem more drawn and slanted.

I can’t get enough of my makeup if I don’t finish it with cat flicks. Even though black eyeliner is good and classy, I still need a variety. I want experiments. So, recently when shopping at a mall, I saw this liquid glitter eyeliner.

I fell for this peachy shade. I’ve already had an eyeliner in my stash of almost the same shape and golden color, which I really liked.

When I was ordering this Too Faced eyeliner, I already knew some makeup looks that I’d create with it. I was impressed with the web-site preview - it looked so amazing there.

So, meet the worst eyeliner ever - Too Faced Glitter Pop in the shade «Yes Way Rose».

  • Price: $20.00

  • Size: 6.5 ml

  • Made in the USA

The product retails with a branded cardboard pink box. The tube with the formula is see-through. It’s a thick plastic, which looks like glass, though. The top cap is actually the product brush. I have no negative comments about the packaging.

The tube is quality, it has an adorable design, the stopper doesn’t let the contents flow out and it naturally lets out as much as needed.

The brush is small, it’s really thin and pleasant to work with. One can easily draw very thin lines with it. The stopper allows the right amount of the formula to come out, but one swipe won’t ever be enough for one eye (a third of it maximum and then it’ll start to apply the product in patches). So, I have to dip into it at least thrice to makeup my one eye.

  • Ingredients

Water/Aqua/Eau, Polyethylene Terephthalate, Polyvinyl Alcohol, Acrylates Copolymer, Polybutylene Terephthalate, Calcium Sodium Borosilicate, Ethylene/VA Copolymer, Silica, PVM/MA Decadiene Crosspolymer, Sodium Hydroxide, Disodium EDTA, Sodium Acetate, Methyl Acetate, Methyl Alcohol, Tin Oxide, Phenoxyethanol, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Blue 1 Lake (CI 42090), Blue 1 (CI 42090), Yellow 5 (CI 19140)

  • Product characteristics

The formula is of average thickness, as a regular black eyeliner, for example. The consistency is okay to draw beautiful wings. It doesn’t bleed over my lids and stays in place. It has a characteristic smell, which can be made out only if you place the tube or the brush right in front of your nose.

The glitter is finely milled and barely visible. In the swatch below you can see that the formula looks like a gel, with a lot of nicely grained shimmer bits.

On my hand (swatch) the product didn’t take long to dry down, literally it set within 30 secs. If I rub it with my fingers, it feels as though the formula is dry. It doesn’t smudge or feather. You can see only a few glitter bits that “traveled” over my hand.

In comparison with another glitter eyeliner of mine, which is of golden color (the difference here lies in the texture of bases, as well as in the sizes of the glitter parts):

However, the advantages are over here.

The consistency of the product is weird. It doesn’t dry down on my eyes as quickly as on my hand. If I start applying mascara right after this eyeliner application, then it’ll surely stain my lids 100%.

Oops… I accidentally blinked…

That’s why I always have to spritz my face with a makeup setting spray at first, then wait for about 5 minutes and only after that start doing my lashes.

The second thing that pisses me off is actually the main reason why I give this eyeliner 1 star only. And I could manage and live though my lids staining, but this is something I can’t bear. The thing is that the product peels off from my skin after drying out. (!)

I mean, I do beautiful wings and look beautiful for 30 minutes but then… my eyeliner drops off. I meant it! It looks as though I’m insane or something with my eyeliner peeled-off, half-way sticking in my lashes and half-way dragging to my under-eyes.

The manufacturer states that the product sets within 5 minutes and then you’ll be able to remove it easy-breezy. According to the guidance you should gently peel it off starting from the outer corner of the eye: they mean that the dry scab will peel off, leaving a beautiful glitter finish behind. But no, it leaves my skin nude!

  • Photo-results and the product in action

1. The eyeliner on my eyes solo. I either apply it on my nude skin, or over eyeshadows. The staying power in both cases is about 30 minutes or an hour.

2. The product paired with a black eyeliner

I apply this glitter eyeliner over the black line, but I don’t even touch it and apply the glitter higher. By the way, my life hack: if your black liner looks uneven then use the glitter liner on top of it. And viola, no one will ever guess you boo-boo.

3. The product over the black liner

As well as the golden eyeliner, which I really love, I also tried to apply this peachy product on top of the black liner. But here, an unpleasant thing was waiting for me. The Too Faced liner doesn’t want to sit over some other products and performs really badly. It either dwindles over it or budges. Sometimes it could even clump right on my eyes.

A classy black wing:

I’ve tried my best to apply two coats of this glitter eyeliner here, which eventually clumped and bled:

My favorite makeup look with the golden eyeliner, which costs no more than 2 bucks and sets nicely, even on top of the black eyeliner.

I watched a YouTube video where they showed how easily the product peels off. Well, it’s true, it peels off easily (of course if you applied about 5 good layers and let them dry properly), but I wish its staying power was more than 30 minutes after all.

The makeup removing with it is a tricky task. First of all, it isn’t so easy to remove it if the product dried down. If I wear 1-2 layers, it just breaks off. I’ve never managed to peel it off with one and the whole piece. Only with small bits of it.

If I am to remove this glitter eyeliner, applied on top of my black liner, then it’s hell for me. It just doesn’t come off. And it doesn't even remove when I try to peel it off.

I have to use my cleansing oil, which results in glitter clumps all over my face. They especially like sitting in my brows.

Overall

  • The product is too pricey

  • The wear time is a disaster (it literally stays on for 30 minutes over a base)

  • It doesn’t peel off as a whole piece (it breaks off)

  • My face is always covered with glitter after removing my makeup if I wore this eyeliner

  • It doesn’t want to sit over a base product and bleeds and smudges

  • It always stains my upper lids. After that it becomes almost impossible to remove, because the glitter is everywhere

Even 1 star is too much for this eyeliner. In my mind I assess it with 0 stars. I literally warn you away from this product! Never recommended!
