I want to start by saying that I love and respect Urban Decay’s products. In winter I was literally addicted to their products, so I was sure that I would love their mascara as well.
The design is in Urban Decay's style, very classy as always.
Ingredients:
Aqua (Water/Eau), Synthetic Beeswax, Acacia Senegal Gum, Stearic Acid, Palmitic Acid, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax (Cera Carnauba/Cire de Carnuba), Butylene Glycol, Glyceryl Stearate, Polybutene, VP/Eicosene Copolymer, Aminomethyl Propanol, Pentylene Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Sodium Dehydroacetate, Potassium Sorbate, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Soluble Collagen, Myristic Acid, Arachidic Acid, Behenic Acid, Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Oleic Acid, Mel (Honey/Miel) Extract, Sodium PCA,Hydrolyzed Elastin, Glycogen, Serine. [+/- (May Contain/Peut contenir): CI 77499 (Iron Oxides)].
The stopper in the tube is very good, it allows to take out as much of the product as I need. But the brush is too big, I think. It coats my lashes very well, with no stickiness, but it requires time to get used to it. Because of its big size, it can leave spots on the upper eyelid, so you need to be very careful.
The scent. I didn’t notice any perfume agent in it, just a standard mascara scent. It didn’t irritate me at all.
The color of the mascara is usual black, but not charcoal one.
The product on my eyelashes. To make it more visible, I applied the mascara on one eye only:
There are no clumps, my lashes are bigger and volumized. I quite liked this effect
, though I used to have them better.It’s not bad, is it? And this is how mascara looks when total makeup’s done.
Everything was okay, but later the product started to behave strange.
Lasting power. In an hour or so the mascara starts to crumble a bit. There aren’t any big clumps, but I feel like I have large dark circles under my eyes. I wipe them off with wet wipes, as it’s much more difficult to wipe them with my fingers. So, I have to touch-up every 2-3 hours.
The mascara is claimed to be waterproof, but I haven’t noticed it to be so. If it is raining or snowing outside the product will run down my face a bit.
In two weeks the product started to behave better. Now it crumbles less, but still I’m not quite delighted with the way it stays on my eyes.
This is how my lashes look like in 6 hours of wearing (take into a consideration that I wiped the crumbles away)
The product removes easily with a milk cleansing lotion.
Minuses:
-it crumbles
-it takes a lot of time to apply (because of the brush)
-the price isn’t cheap
-the ingredients might have been better
Pluses:
+no perfume agent in it
+beautiful color
+gives length and volume
+stylish design
Overall, I don’t recommend this mascara. For me there’s nothing outstanding in it. Even in mass market products there are some better exemplars.
