I’m so excited to bring you my thoughts on the Holy Grail (HG)Eyeshadow Palette from Violet Voss. Currently the brand takes over the beauty world and it even has a shelf in Sephora now.
This palette is one of the most hyped up and best-selling eyeshadows of the brand.
It’s called Holy Grail, because it has a myriad of neutral color tones for casual wear and a few bright hues to make the makeup exceptional yet wearable.

Design: The product comes in a sturdy cardboard packaging with a laminate coating and a magnetic fastening. Inside you can see a huge mirror and the names of each shade. So beautiful.
Let’s move onto the swatches and the description of each shade:
Crystal - is a creamy pearly shade
Ploof - is a neutral white-pink
Thanks a Latte - is a matte vanilla
Transition - is a light warm brown
Hashtag - is a mild peach

Awesome Sauce - is a muted satin copper

- Overall, I loved the color selection. It looks like your ordinary neutral-toned eyeshadow palette for everyday, but this one also has a dark-red highlight to it.
- You can create A PLETHORA of looks: usual daily makeup, smokey eyes, halo eyes, cut crease, dark-red shimmer, etc.
- I give it THOUSANDS of stars because of the color variety.
All shades
The metallic hues
My faves in the palette are:
Ploof, Thanks a Latte, Transition, Toffee, Cool Beans, Bat My Eyes, So Jelly and Brownie Points.
The shades I didn’t like are:
1. Crystal is too light and white for me.
2. On Fleek and Glamping look too similar on my eyes.
3. Chill looks too dull on me.
4. Wine n Dine is pain in my neck to blend out. It looks like a bruise on my lid.
The quality: All the matte hues except for the Wine n Dine blend out very well. The metallic shades look awesome on my eyes, especially if I put them on with a damp brush. Some shades are a tad dustier than the others, but it’s not that big of a deal for me.
As for the satin shades Awesome Sauce and Chill, they are no likey for me, as they look too pale and dull on my skin.
The staying power: The eyeshadow wears very well. The mattes might crease a little bit on my eyelid (I use them with a primer on) and some shimmers may get paler over time, but it’s not a deal-breaker.
Makeup looks:
The makeup No. 1: Transition + R U Kitten me to my crease, So Jelly + How u Doin to the center of my lid, Brownie Points to the outer corner of my eye and Ploof + Crystal to the inner corner of my eye.
The makeup No. 2: Bestie + R U Kitten Me to my crease, On Fleek + Cranberry Splash to my whole movable eyelid, So Jelly to the center of my lid, Ploof to the corner of my eye and Teddy Bear + Wine n Dine to the outer corner of my eye.
The makeup No. 3: Thanks a Latte to my brow bone, Hashtag + Transition to my crease, Brownie Points to the inner and outer corners of my eyes, Cool Beans to the center of my lid and Ploof + So Jelly to the inner corner of my eye. This look is called Halo Eye.
My verdict:
The palette is so multitasking and versatile, even though it has its downsides.
I recommend it to all those who are into neutral makeups. The product blends out very well and looks awesome on the eyes. The palette is well balanced with mattes and shimmers. HIGHLY recommended!
