Hello everyone!
Recently I happened to try this gorgeous rainbow eyeshadow palette!
I purchased it in winter when there was a sale for Violet Voss products.
By the way, it’s not the first eyeshadow I tried from the brand. Some time ago I wrote a review about the Violet Voss x Nicol Concilio PRO Eyeshadow Palette that pleased me so well. So I was sure about the quality of this palette too.
When I first saw the swatches of this palette on the Internet, I was amazed. They were so pigmented and stunning! That’s why I ordered it.
The palette comes in a packages made of thick cardboard. Well, it’s typical. On the plus side, it has a mirror. On the minus side, it has no brush
Also, the palette comes with a protective plastic upper lid.
As far as you can see, the refills are bigger than those in normal eyeshadow palettes.
The total weight is 32g with each refill weighting 3.2g. The palette contains 10 refills.
The color selection is best described with the phrase: “Richard Of York Gave Battle In Vain”!
Now let’s look at each shade closer!
FLAMINGO is a bright pink metallic.
PEACH is a peach and pearly shade.
BUTTERCUP is a pearly golden.
SEAFORM is a pearly turquoise.
FIJI is bright blue that reminds me of a beautiful ocean water somewhere in the Maldives
ROYAL is an intense dark-blue.
INDIGO: I would probably call it dark-purple.
VIOLET is reminiscent of the previous shade, but this one is lighter. I would call it intense violet.
PEARL is a gorgeous white and pearly duochrome. It overflows with different hues beginning from golden to green by different lighting.
ECLIPSE is a deep black and the only matte shade out there. It’s highly pigmented and EXTREMELY dusty. It gives incredible payoff and incredible fallout, so be careful when applying it.
As you might have guessed, there is only one matte shade, while the others are metallic, plus a single duochrome.
The pigmentation is absolutely stunning!
The shades apply to my skin easily and you can see it in the swatches.
Here are the swatches with my fingers:
The metallics are so cool!
And here are the swatches made with a brush. I was speechless!
I’ve never had such eyeshadows that would apply to my skin with a dry brush so amazingly! The payoff is fantastic!
The shade Pearl is very beautiful and I think it can be used as a highlighter also.
The shade Eclipse is extraordinary and highly-pigmented. It’s pitch black and actually a little bit hard to work with.
It has to be applied very carefully. By the way, it reminds me of a shade from Lime Crime Venus II…
The texture is pretty crumbly, but all the shades feel buttery on my skin except for Eclipse.
I assume it’s due to the jojoba oil in the ingredients.
The pigment is long-lasting and bright. It wears without creasing when applied to an eyeshadow base.
I guess it’s a perfect basic eyeshadow palette for creating vibrant and complex looks.
To be honest, I’m pretty lazy, so I haven’t yet tried this palette to its fullest extent. So here is just a couple of makeups I happened to create. Look how bright and beautiful this eyeshadow is!
Here, I tried to create a blue-green-yellow makeup, but I actually haven’t yet learnt how to use these colors properly!
I was inspired by the fish from the ‘The Little Mermaid’ cartoon
So, is it worth buying or not? If you are a makeup artist, the answer is definitely yes!
I mean it. This eyeshadow is highly pigmented and the shades are so bright and luscious. It beats out the other colorful eyeshadows by a long shot.
If you are a makeup junkie or in particular an eyeshadow junkie, it would be a nice addition to your collection.
If you are an ordinary Joe who gravitates towards neutral, nude or classy makeups, I doubt it would be of any use for you.
I personally used it just a few times These makeups were definitely noticeable for other people
I only regret that I didn’t attend any beauty workshops. They would be really helpful for me whenever I used this palette!
It’s now available on Sephora for $30. I think that the quality totally lives up to the price.
That’s it. Happy shopping and thanks for reading my review!
