Hi!

At the end of 2018, I stumbled across another makeup find on budget. Now I own two palettes from the Color Icon Comfort Zone Line, namely E758 and E759 - the latter is almost over. In my opinion, these two are the best in their line.

Price: about 5 USD

Made in China.

Should be used within 2 years after opening.

Design

The quality of the plastic packaging as well as its design leave much to be desired. No brush, applicator or mirror is included. The appearance lives up to the price. However, the palette doesn’t crack or break.

It opens easily and the latch works fine. There is a sticker on it, which was hard to remove and left a sticky film.

On the back side we can find more information and directions. Just out of curiosity, I tried to follow the makeup tutorial and got nothing but a grey spot on my eyelids.

The palette isn’t big. Palm-sized, I’d say.

The palette includes 10 colors.

Their numbers can be found on the backside of the palette.

1 and 10 are the biggest pans. As far as I understand, these are basic colors, both matte texture-wise, are of good quality and high pigmentation.

1 is a beige-red and 10 is a light burgundy, pretty beautiful.

Colors 2,3,4,5 are all different in terms of formula.

2 is the lightest and the most crumbly color, which will work great for highlighting and has a satin finish.

3 and 4 are silky and satin. Color #3 is grey beige and very delicate. Color #4 is bright and sparkly, especially under light.

6,7,8,9:

8 is the most interesting and beautiful color in the whole palette and the reason I bought it at all. It’s a duochrome with turquoise on a brown base. Very beautiful. Easy to work with and transfer to the skin even without a primer.

In the sunlight:

The shimmer is more visible in real life than in the photo. This single shade can replace the whole makeup. I have a few duochrome pigments, and this color isn’t worse than them...and easier to use.

Also, there are light green and brown colors.

There are also failures, like colors 5 and 9. They look nice in the palette, but turn out to be dry and messy in use. They are the same in terms of quality and formula, with little shimmer particles. Both are very dark, or brown black and it spoils everything.

Also, these shades fade right after application.

Colors 5 and 9 are okay for darkening the outer corners, but should be applied with patting motions, otherwise they may fall off.

Colors 4 and 7 are okay, but way too bright and give too much shine.

The shadows are fragrance-free, which is a bit surprising for cosmetics on budget.

The lasting power is good, the shadows stay on my lids for a whole day without creasing or falling off.

Removing: The darkest shades 5 and 9 may leave spots. The others are easy to remove.

Conclusion:

Cons:

  • - no neutral colors
  • - some colors are messy and dusty
  • - the packaging is flimsy

Pros:

  • - price
  • - good pigmentation
  • - includes a beautiful duochrome color
  • - nice longevity
  • - no scent
  • - easy to use (except for colors 5 and 9)

All in all, this palette is great for the price. I give it four stars, and yet recommend.
