Pros: a good moisturiser, has thermal water, spf 20

I have thin skin, so my blood vessels are quite noticeable around my lips, eyes and on my cheeks. I have kind of red ‘snakes’ all around my face. The doctor said I have Rosacea.

Rosacea is a chronic and potentially life-disruptive disorder primarily of the facial skin, often characterized by flare-ups and remissions.

So, this means that I have a skin disease that has to be treated and I didn’t even know about it!

Basically, Rosacea means that my weak blood vessels become more noticeable. It’s not only ugly but also harmful, because the circulation of blood breaks and my blood vessels get consequently bigger, which means that the redness increases.

I decided to treat this disease with medicine, but it didn’t help me even after 6 months of constant use.

So, I decided to try something different.

I went to the doctor and she said to me that if I didn’t treat it, it would get only worse. Right away I imagined myself with a red and puffy face like that of a drunkard and agreed to do something about it.

She recommended I try the Avene Antirougeurs Emulsion and not a cream, because I have oily skin.

Yep, there are such ‘lucky’ people like me who have oily and at the same time sensitive skin with vascular lesions.

By the way, this Avene option was not so easy to find.

Well, now I have it.

Honestly, it’s the first product that does really help me. It doesn’t conceal redness, but treats it. Well, let’s talk about it.

What the manufacturer says:

Redness-relief: Improves micro-circulation with Ruscus extract enriched in saponines. Soothing: Rich in Avène Thermal Spring Water, soothing, softening, your skin will feel instantly soothed. Anti-puffiness: Thanks to its Dextran Sulfate content.

All the claims are true. I’ve been using it for 2 months now and I’m totally happy with the results.

How does it work?

First of all, the emulsion has a very soft texture that softens and soothes my skin eliminating redness. There is no alcohol or anything in the ingredients that can cause any uncomfortable feelings.

Secondly, it improves blood circulation, which means that it treats Rosacea for real.

Thirdly, the texture has a hint of green, which visually neutralises redness and even some purple undertone without a foundation.

What makes me especially happy is that the consistency is watery and not oily, which is so important for my oily skin type. I apply this emulsion overnight and in the morning prior to the foundation or powder. My skin is not oily then, which is essential for me, because other drugstore creams make my nose shine like crazy in just 30 minutes after application.

I’d like to show you the results after use.

The difference is not very noticeable in the photos, because I took them with the front facing camera. However, it is noticeable in reality.
