I adore different face serums, concentrates, and elixirs. In my skin care game, those are a part of my morning as well as night rituals. The reason for that is they all are good and helpful skin primers.
I fell for the Biotherm brand after testing out their red line which was Red Algae. And now, I use their new product which is Life Plankton Elixir.
Packaging- A heavy glass tube with the branded blue to the black gradient of the color. It looks simple, expensive and really sleek.
It has a glass dropper for dispensing which I adore because one drop is always enough for my face and neck for one application.

At once, I saw the bifida ferments second on the list. I googled because earlier before I used to think that they used those ferments mainly for food production. But then I found out that bifida ferments were also used for skin care because they are perfect for treating the skin from sun damage, as well as acne and dermatitis, skin aging. They are also known for protecting the skin from harsh environmental impact. And these ingredients are second in the components! Wow!
Texture- The serum is semi-see-through, it’s rather runny and freshly scented. By the way, Biotherm always scents their products with cool aromas.
Despite the runny texture, the product really goes a long way. I’ll show you how much of the product I’ve used within a month 1-2 times a day.
My impressions
The product is nice to distribute over my skin and it doesn’t take long to sink in. My skin is smooth and velvety to the touch. It’s great because this way I can also use it as a makeup primer.
I love how it soothes my skin after acid skin care. It goes well with all the skin care products that I use, including other tubes from Biotherm as well. The formula doesn’t make me break out or provoke any other skin woes.
I love how smooth and gentle my skin is after this Life Plankton Elixir application. Within 2 weeks of use, I can see that my skin texture is smoothed out and my complexion is more alive now (well, maybe that’s because of the spring finally coming). In the morning this elixir makes my skin revived and fresh immediately, while in the evening it nicely diminishes all the signs of fatigue from my skin.
In the end, I want to say that the Biotherm serums are the best ones that I’ve ever tried. They not only boost the effects from my other skin care products but they also work best alone.
