I’m weak...I’m weak and I trust ads. After looking at perfect faces without wrinkles and blemishes, smooth as though after being photoshopped, I ran to the nearest store like a zombie to buy this miracle which promised to solve all my problems once and for all.

Now to the review itself. It’s devoted to the Clinique Pep-Start Hydroblur Moisturizer.

As a person with problematic and oily skin I’m constantly looking for something that would make my face less shiny.

This moisturizer promises to mattify and hydrate my skin at the same time.

Its design is great and lovely, this blue color makes me remember warm summer and the sea side. The cream itself has a barely noticeable pink color.

Ingredients:

Water, Glycerin, Sodium polyacrylate crosspolimer-1, Acetylated glycol stearate, Myristyl Myristate, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Dimethicone, Butyrospermum Parkii, Mangifera, Indica Seed Butter, Hypnea Musciformis Extract, VINYL DIMETHICONE/METHICONE SILSESQUIOXANE CROSSPOLYMER, Gellidiela Acerosa, Sigesbeckia Orientalis Extract, Alcaligenes Polysaccharides, Algae Extract, Laminaria Saccharina Extract, Squalane, Ceramide NP, Beeswax, Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, Caffeine, Sodium Hyaluronate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Trehalose, Sodium stearoyl glutamate, Butylene Glycol, Caprylyl Glycol, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Hydrogenated polyisobutene, Hydrogenated lecithin, Sodium polyacrylate starch, Pentylene Glycol, Laureth-9, Laureth-23, Silica, Silica silylate, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Benzoate, Red #4, Yellow 5.

Promises:

This lightweight, oil-free moisturizer instantly blurs imperfections and provides all-day hydration, while immediately reducing surface shine and providing lasting oil control for up to eight hours. Great for use alone, under foundation, or for touch-ups throughout the day, skin looks naturally perfected with a matte finish. It's the ideal way to give your skin the moisture it needs, and the forgiving retouch that blurs the look of pores and fine, dry lines.

Well, dunno…

Consistency: It seems to be weightless and airy, nice to apply and leaves no mask feeling. The smell is somewhat glue-like.

The foundation applies nice over this moisturizer, but...but those with extremely oily skin shouldn’t even count on mattifying. After 30 minutes, my skin starts to shine insanely. Unfortunately, this moisturizer does not deliver the results it promises. I think it will suit those with normal and combination skin, and I’ll continue looking for my HG face cream.
