Hello!

Today I want to talk about the face cleanser from the famous brand Clinique, which is the first step in their 3 step face care system.

I got a mini tube with 0,5 oz which lasted for three weeks of use in the morning and in the evening. A little bit truly goes a long way!

I like this cleanser because of its formula which reminds me of thick Korean foams. You only need a pea-sized amount of the cleanser to get a nice thick lather that will cover the face and cleanse even the tiniest pores.

The cleanser is pink and has a disgusting aroma. Even though the makers claim it’s fragrance free, I can totally smell something sour and chemical. It’s not fragrance, it’s the smell of the cleanser itself. Not that I hate it, but it’s really unpleasant.

It’s supposed to suit normal skin. My skin is normal, prone to dryness in the winter, and combination in the summer. And I daresay, this cleanser doesn’t suit normal skin. It dries my skin out, even in the shower I feel how tight and dehydrated it becomes! The cleanser leaves my face squeaky clean. Too clean to feel good, in fact.

I also used this as a makeup remover, and it did remove face powder and foundation. Well, what cleanser wouldn’t? It shouldn’t be used on the eye area and since I don’t like using several products for different face zones, I stopped using it as makeup remover.

After this cleanser, a face lotion and moisturizer should be used, especially overnight. In the morning I also apply a serum under my cream in order to moisturize my skin, so I don’t understand how this can be recommended for normal skin types.

It cleanses great and removes pimples. It even makes blackheads less visible. But it’s definitely not the best face foam in my life. It dries out my skin and stinks. However, at the same time it has great cleansing properties and lasts long. Maybe it would be too harsh for some people, but I’m sure some may find it suitable, still.

Yes, I do recommend this Clinique Rinse Off Foaming Cleanser for those with oily skin or to use in combination with a very nourishing moisturizer.
