I couldn’t pass by the so popular and famous The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Serum. This serum is constantly sold out everywhere and I think that’s for good reason.
Expires within 12 months
Made in Canada
As all the Ordinary products, this one was packed in a matte glass bottle. I store it in the cardboard packaging and keep it away from the light as niacinamide breaks down in the presence of light.
Inside the bottle there’s a small glass dropper which is a great helper when it comes to taking the product out. Inside there are small bubbles of the air can be seen.
Harnessing the (anything but ordinary) power of niacinamide and zinc – with a surprisingly small price tag – this potent serum is perfect for combating blemishes, enlarged pores and uneven skin tone. A must-have for battling breakouts, The Ordinary’s Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% regulates sebum production to minimize pores and reduce blemish-causing bacteria, keeping your complexion clear, calm and collected. A superlative skin improver, niacinamide boosts the skin’s immunity and improves moisture retention, while a brilliant shot of zinc PCA works to repair damaged skin and promote the creation of collagen.
Aqua (Water), Niacinamide, Pentylene Glycol, Zinc PCA, Tamarindus Indica Seed Gum, Xanthan Gum, Isoceteth-20, Ethoxydiglycol, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenesin.
How to use:
Apply to entire face morning and evening before heavier creams.
Why it’s cult?
A dream come true for oily skin, this potent serum targets breakouts, minimizes pores and decongests confused complexions by regulating sebum production. Featuring high concentrations of two of the most efficacious blemish-battling ingredients out there (niacinamide and zinc), this swiftly soothes skin and improves its overall health.
Don’t use this serum along with vitamin C infused products. Niacinamide completely neutralizes the anti-aging effect of vitamin C. What’s more, it can provoke allergies and irritation of the skin.
Texture-wise the serum is gel-like.
When I apply it over my face it runs down it.
Here I rubbed it in my skin and you can see the white texture here, so I always dab it in the skin, as a moisturizing cream.
By the way, don’t be surprised if you see the white cast on the skin in the morning. It’s the niacinamide powder.
My experience with the Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Serum:
This serum has really helped me to fight blemishes. It really heals my skin. I use it overnight, as niacinamide breaks down in the light. Moreover, makeup falls off the skin because of this serum and I can’t omit makeup in my daily routine.
As for making the skin lighter, I can’t say anything as my skin is already fair. And I also can’t say anything about wrinkle soothing, as I don’t have any.
Many people say that the product minimizes the appearance of pores. I can’t say that my pores are huge but still I saw the result. During use, I noticed that my pores have become smaller. And what’s more is the amount of the blackheads on my nose has decreased dramatically. I guess that if I keep using it, I won’t have any blemishes at all.
P.S: Don’t expect immediate results from using this product. The effect is accumulative and the first changes could be noticeable up to a month after using.
But after a month the appearance of the skin will be way better.
AFTER: (two weeks later)
