In the end of 2017 I saw this serum with a 5 star rating and decided to give this magical piggy a try.
Honestly, I’m not impressed. I even wanted to throw it away at first. Why? I’ll tell you a bit later.
Promises:
A powerful moisturizer for a vibrant skin! Elizavecca Witch Piggy Hell Pore Control Hyaluronic Acid 97% provides moisture to your skin. It features 97% of hyaluronic acid, the substance that exists in human body and it retains moisture from skin's uppermost layers down to its dermis layer. By regulating proper hydration level of pores, it helps solving pore problems and makes your skin glow. With non-sticky formula, it does not leave a greasy feeling.
The serum comes housed in a little glass bottle, which was initially packaged into a box. Eye-catching, unusual and really attractive - at least, for those who like such bright packagings.
Most of the information is in Korean.
Ingredients:
Well, it looks like there are so many awesome ingredients in there.
The serum is transparent without all these trendy glitter particles.
The formula is gel-like, a bit too thick for a serum, but once spread on the skin, it becomes watery
The serum comes with a dropper, and it is awful. The dropper is huge but takes only like 1\4 of its size. How do you like it? Personally I hate to dip the dropper into the bottle again and again.
I thought this serum would be a miracle, but, alas, I was disappointed.
My skin is:
- young
- dehydrated
- combination
- with fast clogging pores and blackheads
- pimples only once a month
- reacts quickly on the skin care products that don’t suit it
- flaking spots
- uneven skin color
- couperose-prone
To cover the whole face, I need like three drops. The serum spreads and absorbs quickly but sometimes lathers for some reason.
So I’ve been using this serum for 6 months now. My thoughts?
The serum does not moisturize. Yes, it seems to smoothen the flaking skin and make them invisible, but this effect is achieved with a simple film. The serum does not penetrate the skin, and the effect lasts only until I wash it off.
The serum doesn’t reduce the appearance of my pores. It simply fills them, as well as little wrinkles and again, the effect lasts only as long as the serum is on the skin.
The serum does nothing against pigment spots and post acne marks. It makes my skin soft for a half an hour, and after that I want to apply something else to it. The problem was solved by using a face cream.
My skin condition hasn’t changed after all this time. I paired it with serum with different creams, sheet masks, solo. I applied it overnight and as a day treatment. Zero effect.
Why buy this serum again, then?
Because I can’t imagine my makeup without it anymore. It’s such an awesome makeup base that fills my pores. It’s sticky which allows a better and more precise application of the foundation. Also, the serum prolongs the longevity of it.My skin is matte and even (thanks to the above mentioned sticky film). The face shine is reduced. Before and after:
In the winter, I was using this as a makeup base for 4 cold months.
In the summer, I’m using this serum because it mattifies and improves my makeup. It still gives no moisturizing effect, though.
The conclusion:
As a skincare product - not recommended.
As a makeup base - why not? Though I’d recommend to pair it with the moisturizer for very dry skin.
