Pros: makes even skin, moisturizes and mattifies well, not sticky

Hi dear readers!

I appreciate Asian cosmetics and buy something for me very often. Sometimes it happens so that I put products in my cart without reading the product details properly. This time it was the case too.

  • Name: Green Tea Fresh Essence

  • Manufacturer: Innisfree

  • Country: Korea

  • Volume: 50 ml

  • Price: about $17

My skin

I’m 30 y.o. and have combination skin, which is prone to getting oily in the T-zone. More than that I have normal skin on my cheeks, large pores on my nose and no actual breakouts.

What the manufacturer promises:

Dry Type: Moisture essence made with green tea and green tea seeds for deep hydration and nourishment

A moisturizing and nourishing serum containing eco-friendly Jeju fresh green tea and green tea seeds. More moisturizing and refreshing than ever before!

1. Green tea extracted from fresh green tea leaves harvested on Jeju Island is rich in amino acids and minerals that help keep the skin moisturized.

2. It forms a soft, firm layer on your skin to deliver nutrients and to keep your skin hydrated and firm.

3. Cotton seed oil moisturizes the skin to form a protective layer and provides nourishment to dry skin.

Design

The product comes in paper packaging in beige and green colors. The main part of the description is written in Korean, but you can find the ingredients in English too. The serum has a convenient pump. The tube itself is made of green plastic.

Smell, color and consistency

The essence has a half-transparent white color. The consistency is not oily and absorbs quickly without leaving an oily film or clogging the pores. The product is not sticky (some of you know that snail creams and serums are extremely tacky). It has a nice refreshing scent, which dissipates very quickly.

Results

The serums and essences are meant for use under a cream, so it’s very hard to evaluate the product properly.

This type is designed for dry skin, while I have combination skin. Nevertheless, the products suited me well. It moisturizes my skin and doesn’t clog my pores. Therefore I give it 5 stars, but I’m not sure if girls with dry or overly dry skin would also love it. Well, it depends on your personal taste.

After skin

As for the claims, I’ll say the following:

Moisturizes? Yes

Makes even complexion? Yes

Controls the skin aging? I hope so

Fights against breakouts? I don’t really have this problem, but the product doesn’t cause any new pimples, that’s for sure

Protects skin from harmful environmental factors? I'll take their word for it.
