Pros: soaks in quickly
Cons: doesn't help, doesn't mattify skin, may dry out skin, tingling sensation

Why hello there!

This spring my skin flared up so badly in no time, as if it set itself against me. It all started with a huge amount of zits that ended up with inflammations that have nowhere to go now! Creepy, right?!

At that moment I realized that all these DIY treatments won’t help and decided to purchase a specific cream. I longed to try something from La Roche-Posay, so I settled on the product from this brand. Moreover, the reviews were mostly positive!

So I bought 40 ml of this so-called ‘life-saver’ for about £16.00.

The product details:

An anti-blemish moisturiser that corrects and hydrates skin for clearer skin in 4 weeks

A dual action daily gel moisturiser that reduces the appearance of blemishes and blackheads, controls shine and helps protect the skin from the causes of red and brown coloured marks that are often left by spots. Hydrates skin for 24 hours. This cosmetic moisturiser is also suitable for acne-prone skin.

The tube is very common and standard for the brand:

It comes with 40 ml of the cream, which is a huge plus, because I usually had 30 ml of similar products.

The nozzle is convenient to use. It doesn’t spit the product but gives just the right amount for application:

The smell is enjoyable, but I can feel it only during application. It vanishes right after that.

The formula is very nice and melts away when I touch it. It distributes on my skin very well and glides over it smoothly. A very small amount is required to apply to my whole face.

I’ve started using this cream about 3 months ago when my skin was all covered in breakouts. I couldn’t understand what caused such a reaction, because I hadn’t changed anything in my skincare routine then. So I hoped to get the following results according to the other reviewers:

  1. Less blackheads;

  2. Less breakouts. However, I wanted to have no breakouts at all, because I had only singular spots;

  3. Better skin condition after acne. Currently the acne spots started going away so slowly, i.e within 3-4 months in my case! Am I getting older? Does my skin regenerate slower or what?

So I used this cream once a day. At first I applied it in the morning only, but after a while I decided to use it in the evening also. I can’t say that it made a world of difference, because the results were always the same.

The cream is very nice to use. It spreads out effortlessly and doesn’t make my skin feel heavy. It doesn’t cause any new breakouts.

There is a setback, however. It doesn’t moisturize my skin and it feels quite taut after use.

The cream absorbs instantaneously and I have no greasy film after use. So the cream is adorable by itself. It doesn’t require much time to absorb, plus it doesn’t over-hydrate my skin or clog my pores.

Here is my skin before use:

I had bad breakouts, large pores, zits and so on and so forth!

The first improvement was noticeable within 2 and a half weeks:

Yep, I think it’s quite a period! But I decided to be patient and wait for better results.

So after a while the first breakouts gradually started fading, but these acne spots were still there. That’s why I took this product with a grain of salt, especially the claims about a ‘flawless and photoshopped’ skin tone. I haven’t seen anything of the kind on my skin.

More than that, my skin became dry and had flakey bits, which was not good at all.

However, my skin condition got better after a while and looked the following way on a constant basis:

The breakouts on my chin showed no signs of leaving and my skin didn’t change. In addition, it was irritating now and then, so I was totally disappointed!

This cream doesn’t have any impact on my new breakouts. They are the same; complicated, deep under my skin and painful. Also, they disappear very slowly!

It’s something to consider when you have a similar issue with acne!

My skin tone didn’t get more even or any better. It got only worse, because my skin problems are more visible now. So this is the real problem given that I don’t use any foundations!

At the moment the cream is finished, I used it up. It didn’t do any good to my skin. My skin breaks out the same way it broke out earlier. So I’m really underwhelmed by the results.

What I liked about this product:

  1. The tube contains 40 ml of the product;

  2. It doesn’t clog my pores;

  3. It has a lightweight formula that soaks in quickly.

What I didn’t like about the product:

  1. It doesn’t speed up the healing process;

  2. It doesn’t have any impact on new breakouts. They appear as usual;

  3. I consider the product overpriced taking into account such controversial results!

  4. It dries out my skin;

  5. It causes some tingling sensation in case of contact with eyes or other sensitive areas;

  6. It doesn’t cleanse my pores and my blackheads are still there;

  7. No mattifying effect at all.

For me, the cons outweigh the pros, so I don’t get all the hype about this cream. In my opinion, it’s not worth it! But everyone’s skin is different and I understand it. This product doesn’t suit me personally and I’m fine with that. Smile

I advise you have no high hopes for the product. You won’t be disappointed then!

I hope this helps you decide!
