Even though mostly I prefer Korean skin care products, I was longing to try out something new and so I bought a few high end French cosmetic products. This is the review of:
I was impressed with the promises:
The Overnight Recovery Sleeping Mask is infused with goji berry, lemon balm, and vitamin E to provide your skin with antioxidant protection from free radicals. This anti-fatigue face mask quickly melts into the skin, significantly protecting against water loss during sleep and leaving the skin intensely moisturized. Skin immediately feels suppler, softer, and smoother with no oily film or stickiness. After waking up, skin feels nourished and looks fresh and radiant. What it is formulated WITHOUT:- Parabens- Sulfates- PhthalatesWhat else you need to know:Tired of looking tired? Énergie de Vie is a simple, efficacious routine that works to reawaken tired, dull skin, giving you an instant glow. Today's signs of fatigue could turn into tomorrow's visible signs of aging. Lack of sleep, high stress, pollution, daily life excesses—all these environmental factors alter the appearance of the skin.
The facial mask is available in different sizes. The biggest one costs $66 for 2.6 oz.Initially the jar came in a protective wrap.
My jar contains 0,5 oz and is made of plastic. A protective membrane can be found under the cap. No spatula is included.
I love the fresh and a bit floral fragrance of the mask. It’s white and becomes transparent once applied onto the skin.
I’m in my thirties. My skin is normal without significant problems.
The treatment can be used as a light moisturizer, as an overnight facial mask or as a regeneration treatment.
I tried all the above mentioned options.
I always applied the product onto clean skin.
It’s also noteworthy that the mask shouldn’t be applied in the under eye area or around the lips. It’s totally clear why not around the eyes, but I don’t see what’s wrong with applying it around the lips.
As a night cream
I applied it in a thin layer and waited for a miracle to happen, but no, I didn’t see even the slightest effect. I looked in the mirror and had the impression as though I forgot to apply a moisturizer.
As an overnight mask.
According to the suggested usage, I applied the treatment in a thick layer one hour before going to bed.
The mask didn’t soak in at all! It was a greasy silicone-y mess on my skin! Thanks to a Korean serum, my pores were perfectly clean before, but after this mask I got a few blackheads on the chin, and that’s only after I used it twice.
Again, I saw no effect. I just laid all night with this mask on and shook of fear to turn my head and get my pillow dirty.
As a regeneration treatment: apply a lot and let it sit for 10 minutes then remove the rest (whatever hasn’t soaked in with a napkin) And of course there is zero effect.
My opinion in general:
1. The mask is silicone-y, greasy and doesn’t soak into the skin. I had a feeling as though I were using a pore minimizing primer.
2. I had a few red spots. Luckily, those disappeared quickly after I switched back to my Korean skin care routine.
3. I got a few flaking spots on the thin skin around my nose.
4. My face looks tired and not well-tended at all. This high end treatment pales in comparison with my Korean skincare products, after which my skin feels fresh, smooth and moisturized.
5. It clogged my pores.
I’m totally disappointed with this so-called high end treatment!
