Hey there,
This review is probably not so timely, because it would have been more appropriate in spring or fall, when the heating is on and the air gets extremely dry… But lip care is always timely for me! ✌️ So meet the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask. ❤️
I got this product as a gift from my friend straight from Seoul. ❤️ The mask is pretty popular there and I knew the reason behind the hype after testing it a few times. 👍
Size: 20 g
Price: $20
Frequency of use: daily
Color: pale pink
Country: Korea
The mask comes in a violet paper box with directions for use in English and Korean. Also, it has a silicone spatula for application from the case.
The pot itself is nice to hold in your hands. It’s weighty and made of matte glass.
The spatula is also worth mentioning. It’s light, compact and tapered. It picks up a good amount of the product and applies it evenly.
The ingredients are controversial:
Diisostearyl malate, hydrogenated polyisobutene, phytosteryl/isostearyl/cetyl/stearyl/behenyl dimer dilinoleate, hydrogenated poly(6-14 olefin), polybutene, microcrystalline wax, butyrospermum parkii (shea) butter, synthetic wax, euphorbia cerifera (candelilla) wax, sucrose tetrastearate triacetate, butylene/ethylene/styrene copolymer, ethylene/propylene/styrene copolymer, astrocaryum murumuru seed butter, dimethicone, polyglyceryl-2 diisostearate, dehydroacetic acid, methicone, copernicia cerifera (carnauba) wax, polyglyceryl-2 triisostearate, polyhydroxystearic acid, water, potassium alginate, glycerin, propanediol, alcohol, chenopodium quinoa seed extract, vaccinium angustifolium (blueberry) fruit extract, coffea arabica (coffee) seed extract, lycium chinense fruit extract, sapindus mukurossi fruit extract, vaccinium macrocarpon (cranberry) fruit extract, fragaria chiloensis (strawberry) fruit extract, rubus idaeus (raspberry) fruit extract, rubus chamaemorus seed extract, magnesium sulfate, calcium chloride, sodium hyaluronate, beta-glucan, manganese sulfate, zinc sulfate, ascorbyl glucoside, fragrance+/-Cl 15850, Cl 15850:1, Cl 45410:1, Cl 45380:2, Cl 45380, Cl 45410, Cl 17200, Cl 12085, Cl 19140, Cl 15985, Cl 47005, Cl 42090, titanium dioxide, Cl 77499, Cl 77491, mica.
The texture is creamy and coral-red. It has a potent fragrance that is fruity and very enjoyable. The scent reminds me of bubble gum from my childhood.
I also tested the taste and it’s sweet. 😅✌️
Now to the MOST IMPORTANT BIT, i.e. APPLICATION!
Apply it thickly and generously, so that the product covers up your lips and even the area around your lips! This is crucial! If you apply it as a normal lip balm, you won’t get any good results! This mask does a good job when applied the right way. As a result it rescues your chapped and dry lips overnight!
BEFORE: You can clearly see that my lower lip has flakey bits:
AFTER: This is what I had the next morning:
There is no dryness and my lips look like new!
The mask doesn’t bleed or stick my lips together, so it’s absolutely comfortable to wear at night.
It’s better to apply it 30 minutes before going to bed. In the morning my lips are soft, gentle and super hydrated.
My verdict:
I recommend this lip mask as a SOS product. The main thing is to apply it generously!
