Hello there!
Music has always been a huge part of my life. It even helped me to find my husband.
When I do my household chores, I always have to have my music around. As a rule, I have it either on my phone or less frequently on my laptop. And it’s okay when I’m cleaning or cooking but if I wash our clothes or clean the bathroom when the water it too loud, I need something more serious than my phone speaker. Besides, my phone is never a way out when I want to listen to some music while taking a shower. My husband has got a speaker from Sony but it’s so bulky and requires either a battery or charge access. In a word, it’s rather problematic to move around.
Some time ago I started to think about buying a small portable speaker which I would clip to me or hang on a hook in a shower.
So, I needed it to be portable, waterproof and pretty loud.
And recently, walking around the local Walmart, I was drawn to the JBL counter and my eyesight was caught with this small Clip 3 Bluetooth speaker.
JBL Clip3
I found out that it met all my demands:
Like no other, the JBL Clip 3 is a unique ultra-portable, ultra-rugged and waterproof Bluetooth® speaker that is small in size but with surprisingly big sound. The upgraded durable and fully integrated carabiner clips to your clothes, belt loop or backpack, making the Clip 3 your outdoor companion on every adventure. The Clip 3 is IPX7 waterproof and offers 10 hours of playtime, powered by a 1000mAh rechargeable Li-ion battery, allowing you to bring your music with you. A built-in noise and echo-cancelling speakerphone gives you crystal clear calls with the press of a button.
The only gripe was the price of $40. But we have to splurge on quality, right?
So, this is how I got my new babe and I immediately tested it out in the car.
It stunned me with its big sound right away! The music was heard even when I was driving 63 miles per hour with the windows fully open.
The speaker was packed in a plastic cover.

It had the speaker itself, a USB charger and the manual.

The speaker looks like a disc with a clip.
Actually, the clip idea is genius! You can clip the speaker in a shower, or clip to your belt or a backpack and take it with you for a picnic or hiking.

The back of the speaker is rubber.

The front is like fabric but at first I thought it was plastic.

For those who want to use the speaker with devices without Bluetooth connection, they have provided the usual audio input for the wire that is hidden under the cap, next to the charging socket.

The Bluetooth range is impressive. I mean I can leave my phone at home and go out to check the mail outside with the speaker clipped on my belt (about 32 feet away) and the music is still on.
The battery life is long. I haven’t checked the exact time but I charge it about once a week, I mean the promised 10 hours live up to the promises with ease.
And now, the most interesting part. I’ll tell you about the sound.
As I’ve already mentioned, the sound from this speaker is big and clear. It doesn’t wheeze or crack even if I have it the highest. The sound level is enough to listen to music in a shower yet not to wake up half the neighbors.
I even tested it out and put the speaker underwater and the music was still on.
The frame is really waterproof.
In the end, I want to say that the purchase of this JBL Clip3 speaker has been my best investment of $40 lately.
It’s obvious that this tiny speaker won’t replace your sound system and it won’t ever be enough for a loud party. But if you need a speaker for a shower or walks outside or even for a better sound of movies when you watch them on your phone or laptop, JBL Clip3 speaker will be the best option.
Highly recommended! 5 stars!
Thanks for your attention and see you in my next reviews!
