Hello everybody! I often look through different hairstylists groups and forums and learn a lot from them. I knew about the harmful results from affordable and other professional brands and decided to go for the best and opted for one of the finest hair colors for me. For quite a while I couldn’t decide on which one to buy, Paul Mitchell, Goldwell or L’Oreal when finally turned to the hero of my review. For the roots of my hair I opted for a cool, yet not too gray platinum shade HLP so as to fight the yellow pigment, yet leave no patches on the previously bleached hair. I also opted for 12% oxide because I always use it.
The box included only the tube and the instructions. No oxide or gloves, so make sure to buy them additionally.
The price of this hair color is $14.50.
For toning, I chose the product from the same brand.
My base before coloring - deep roots, toned 6-7.
base
As for the product, it’s rather thick and problematic to take out of the tube. As for the oxide, it surprised me with its watery consistency. It’s the first time when I see something like this.
consistency
I mixed them with a special blender.
The consistency turned out to be pleasant and not runny. After mixing, the consistency increased in size. When I was applying it on my hair, I didn’t feel that stinking ammonia smell which is typical for any other highlighting and affordable hair colors.
consistency
The product was easy to apply. It didn’t run down or thicken. During the exposure, it didn’t change my hair color, like purple or anything. Nothing like that.
with the product on my hair
My scalp wasn’t burning but still, I can’t say it was perfectly comfortable. However, it was much easier than usual.
I liked the results! This wasn’t the first time I used a highlighting hair color, so I’ve known all the pitfalls of them. And now I can say that I manage them all.
The finish is a pleasant beige (not platinum which is obvious, however, I still hoped). It didn’t look too contrasting in comparison with the length of my hair.
Paul Mitchell The Color Permanent Cream Hair Color
Next time, my hair roots were very deep and as a result, one time was never enough. My hair roots were like copper. I had to do it twice.
Lower, you’ll see the final results after 2 procedures.
Paul Mitchell The Color Permanent Cream Hair Color
The color is nice to wear, it doesn’t change its shade or look yellow. But I guess that’s because of the shade I chose.
In the end, I conclude by saying that I liked this product. My scalp is fine with it. Besides, this hair color doesn’t smell overwhelming.
However, I can get the same results with cheaper colors, so I doubt that I’d ever repurchase it, at least this HLP shade.
Maybe the toning collection will offer better shades and will boost shine. After all, it isn’t so important what you highlight your roots with. Here are the results of the work of a hair color that costs $3.
