I would really like to share my thoughts on a very useful gadget we use very actively. I’m talking about the Philips Wake-Up Light with Radio HF3505.
My little daughter and I got this device as a gift at our Housewarming Party. They said that it was good to wake up to, use at the kitchen or anywhere else. The first thing I thought was: ‘What a useless item!’ After I’ve checked the price on the Internet ($82), I was shocked. So, I put it on a table and was afraid to come closer and learn how it worked.
After a while I gave up and decided to examine the device and try it. That is where it all started. This Wake-Up Light is so useful. Firstly, the alarm clock is notable day and night, as has touch sensitive buttons. If you put your hands close to them, they light up.
How we use it:
As a radio in the kitchen: It works very well and the volume is so good. Look at the speaker on the back, it looks really powerful.
As a lamp at night when we don’t want to turn a bright light on. We love the muted light of this alarm clock.
As a Wake-Up Light, which is the most fascinating bit. We use it this way in early fall or winter only, when it’s hard to wake up without the sun and go to work and day care centre. The point is that the alarm clock begins lighting up 30 minutes before the alarm and imitating the sunrise. The light is dim in the beginning, but it’s very bright in 30 mins. Plus, a sound plays at a preset time.
There are different sound alternatives for you: radio, music or birdsongs. I love the last sound. You can select the sound here.
I’ve been using this device for a year and a half and I can undoubtedly say, that it’s very useful and comfortable to wake up to. It’s not so painful to open my eyes when it’s dark outside. In the summertime I prefer using it as a radio or clock in the kitchen.
I give it 4 stars only because of the price, which I find too hefty. I wouldn’t buy the gadget myself, if it were not for a gift.
All in all, I recommend it, provided you are ready to plunk down some cash for your comfort.
