It’s always very pleasant to find a cheaper dupe for the popular product that was much more pricey. Well, watching the price of my favorite Deep Brow Pomade by Anastasia Beverly Hills growing, I decided to start looking for cheaper dupes.
And the first brand that caught my attention was Ardell:
The ARDELL brand earned its title as one of the most widely recognized names in faux lashes by catering not just to women looking to enhance their own beauty, but also to legions of beauty professionals and Hollywood makeup artists.
I’ve already had the chance to get to know the falsies by the Ardell brand and I truly believe that they are the best and the most comfortable falsies ever. So, buying the Ardell Brow Pomade I was almost sure that it wouldn’t disappoint me.
The product retails in a see-through plastic packaging.
There’s all the necessary information on the carton back. And they also included a guidance to follow on how to fill in the brows accompanied with pictures.
The jar with the pomade is rather small. It isn’t made of glass, unlike the pomade by Anastasia ВH but made of thick transparent plastic with a matte black top lid.
The top lid closes tightly, so no need to worry that air will get in.
Weight - 3.2 g (4g by Anastasia). But the spending of the product is so low, that I’m sure it’ll go a long way.
They also have a dual-sided brow brush provided.
On one side there’s a spoolie brush, which I use with great pleasure not only to comb my brows but also eyelashes.
On the other side there’s an angled synthetic brush. It’s pleasant to the touch and is of right length and shape. The only concern from me about this brush is that I find it not flexible enough. It becomes a little bit difficult to apply and blend the pomade with this brush, so I have to use my eyeshadow wedged brush.
Texture. The texture is a little bit plasticine. It isn’t greasy yet it sits on the brush or a finger well and is easy to apply the product without patches and clumps.
It sets on the brows within a couple of minutes and this time is enough to shape the brows. After setting, there are no discomforting feelings. It doesn't tighten my skin or weigh down the hairs. I like the setting effect it gives to my brows. I can say that I like the setting properties by Ardell products more than by ABH.
In terms of texture, I don’t see any significant difference between the pomade by Ardell and Anastasia Beverly Hills. They are really very much alike. The only difference is that the pomade by Anastasia seems to melt because of the body’s temperature, while the Ardell’s pomade remains thick. But this factor doesn’t affect application or blending properties of the products. Both products are very comfortable for me in use and wear.
Ardell Brow Pomade retails in three shades:
Blonde, Medium Brown, Dark Brown.
And this is probably the only disadvantage about the Ardell pomade. Brunettes will find it easier to buy their color, while the cool-toned blondes will find it hard to get their color. Even though the Вlonde doesn’t look red, it’s still very warm-toned as there’s a lot of yellow pigment to it.
As far as I can see, the Ardell Вlonde pomade is almost the same as the Вlonde by ABH, judging by the swatch. These ones are perfect for blonde girls with warm-toned hair color.
Intense and less intense swatches:
My ashy-fair brows look good with this product on:
But if I use a flashlight or a lamp light I can see that warm-toned yellow undertone.
BEFORE and AFTER with a flashlight:
I think that neutral Taupe shade by ABH suits me more.
But in general I like the effect this brow pomade gives on my brows. I like the way it fills in my brows and makes them more defined and the total look better.
The staying power is awesome!
The product is water resistant and doesn’t smear during the day. I also appreciate its setting properties.
This Ardell Brow Pomade is an excellent quality product. It’s easy in use and for the 1.5 months of constant use, I haven’t found any faults about it.
So, I do definitely recommend you have a look at this brand and this pomade, as the Brow Pomade by Ardell is a cheaper dupe for the Anastasia Beverly Hills Deep Brow Pomade.
Thanks for your attention! See ya!
