Hello people! I knew of the brand thanks to the hyped Mary-Lou Manizer highlighter which had become viral some time ago. I adore it and keep on using with pleasure. Last year, I could get my hands onto this Balm Springs blush. So, today I’ll review it.
The Balm Balm Springs Blush
About me:
30 yo. Dry, or dryness-prone skin which depends on the season. It’s aging, not problematic, sensitive or reactive.
Price: $21.

Compact:
The full-size compact weighs 5,61g. I bought a mini which has 0,8g as a part of a limited edition beauty box. They both look almost the same with the difference in size and a mirror that is a part of the full-sized pack.

All the products from the brand are manufactured in the same style - cardboard packaging with pin-up pictures all over and funny zeugma names.
They always look cute, girlish, even though I’m still more into simple designs.
The mini looks like a small book. The back of the “book” has the main product info.

The top cap closes with magnets. Inside you’ll find a safely placed refill which is sure to stay put even if you carry it with you in your handbag.
Made in the USA

Shade:
I’d say that it’s an earthy rose. The shade is really complicated, muted, dark rose with a hint of brown and peach tones to it. It’s warm in temperature.
I guess it’ll look the most advantageous over people with fair skin tone or those who are a little bit more tanned. As for the hair color, I think it’ll flatter brunettes, chestnut, and red-haired gals.

Finish: matte
Technical characteristics: the product is dry, powder and finely milled. The consistency is smooth and shimmer-less.
It’s unscented.

Use:
I always use my Blush Brush from Real Techniques for this blusher. Its tapered tip nicely fits into the mini-refill. The product doesn’t crumble and applies really well. I just need the slightest touch with a brush to pick up the right amount of the powder for my makeup.
The Balm Balm Springs Blush
The product is tightly pressed. Even though it seems small and it doesn’t have much in it, it still goes a long way. I’ve been using it since December, alternating with other blushers, and I can see that I have barely used half of it. Super durable!
I apply it following the traditional zones - at first, the apples of my cheeks, and then I touch my ears, neck, eyelids and tip of the nose with a brush and the leftovers on it. The product isn’t chunky.
The Balm Balm Springs Blush
The pigmentation is average. The color payoff is worse than application. Yet, it’s still easy to pack and blend out, creating a beautiful and seamless flush finish. It’s just impossible to spot my face with this blush, so it’s perfect for newbies.
The Balm Balm Springs Blush
In the refill, the shade might look wild and not smooth, it doesn’t appear to be skin-refreshing. But on my face, it somehow looks natural and gentle. It’s the finishing dot in my makeup. Moreover, the matte finish makes it really universal. The product will fit the bill for any makeup, even if you have strict code rules at work.
The Balm Balm Springs Blush
The blush feels lightweight and silky to the touch. It doesn’t dry my skin out or define my skin texture or anything. My pores or wrinkles don’t ever look accentuated with it. No negative reaction from my skin was noticed.
The Balm Balm Springs Blush
Staying power:
The product stays put over my skin up to 10 hours when it’s cool or cold season. Boiling hot weather reduces its life up to 8 hours.
Washing off:
The product isn’t long-wearing or water-proof, so it can be removed with any makeup remover.
I’m head over heels with this Balm Springs blush from The Balm. It’s reasonably priced, excellent in quality and offer a really versatile and gentle shade.
