My natural lashes are short, that’s why it’s obvious that I want them to look voluminous and long after mascara application. I was drawn by this The Balm Cheater mascara because it attracted me with its sounding promises of faux lashes. However, it turned out that these promises didn’t live up to the expectations and I keep on using this product without any pleasure. Why? Keep on reading my review to find out.

Brush: it’s kind of my favorite brush because it’s classy-shaped and not silicone. As a rule, such brushes usually minimize the chances of pricking my eyes with its bristles or staining my skin all over.

This is a true statement that the formula applies well and I don’t even detect it on my eyes. As for my lashes, they aren’t stiff but really remain soft and bendy. There’s no sensation that I covered them with anything.
The formula doesn’t make my lashes clumped and it does really separate them well.
The stopper is excellent here - it doesn’t let the unwanted formula seep out. As for the thickness, it’s ideal - not too thick or too runny. I’ve been using it for several months in a row and its consistency is still the same.
HOWEVER! There's no faux lashes promised effect at all. Well, my lashes really look longer with it and rather neat and bushy. But that’s all. For my pathetic lashes, this effect is too modest and never enough.

By the end of the day, it feels like my mascara disappears completely and my lashes look as though I’d never applied anything over them.
Staying power - sometimes the product can fall down and stain my upper and lower lids. I don’t appreciate that either.
It comes off well when I use micellar water or just regular water too.

OVERALL: this product will never be enough for short lashes! And I’m also freaking out when it constantly falls out. The product is comfortable to wear. It looks good and neat on my eyes. I can recommend it to the girls who have natural long and voluminous lashes, as well as to all those who love natural drama-less results.
As for me, I won’t repurchase. I need better results on my eyelashes.
