Up until around one year ago, I didn’t even know what highlighter was. Of course, I always wondered how celebrities had such beautiful, glowing skin. Youtube opened my eyes and helped me solve that mystery, so now I know how to apply makeup within 5 minutes to give my skin this beautiful, healthy glow.
My favorite highlighter for the moment is The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer. I started to getting to know with this brand through its absolutely gorgeous, great-quality lip glosses, and couldn’t pass up the chance to try its famous highlighter.
The first thing that I appreciate about this brand is its cute packaging. Thought it’s small, it’s eye-catching and high-quality. It’s plastic but has a little weight to it, and it won’t cause you to break a nail when you open it (as some other products do--trust me). The lid opens a full 180 degrees and contains a mirror which won’t distort your reflection.
The texture is very nice, a bit creamy, silky with a fine powdery feel. The product stays on the brush instead of getting dust everywhere and doesn’t crumble. It stays on all day, without fading. I like that I don’t need to reapply it during the day.The pigmentation is gorgeous! At home I use brushes, you can also apply this highlighter with your fingers. I usually apply it under my eyebrows, under my cheekbones, a little bit on the bridge of my nose, and on my cupid’s bow. If I do evening makeup, then I also apply a bit to the center of my forehead and my chin to highlight my T-zone.
The most important parts are the shade of the highlighter and the results it creates. The highlighter’s got a beautiful, creamy champagne color with a very delicate,metallic glow. You only need a small amount to make your face look perfect . It gives you a slight glow, and an overall healthy look.
This highlighter is perfect for any skin type, because it doesn't highlight any defects on your skin..
I also like to use this highlighter as eye shadow. Try this: apply the highlighter on your entire eyelid, darken the crease a bit and then draw a small line. For more an evening look you can apply the highlighter in layers.
I put so much hope in this product and it exceeded my expectations. I definitely recommend this highlighter. I have already put the famous MAC brand products aside and only use Mary-Lou. The product is so affordable that you’ll be using it for many years to come!
