Recently I got a new liquid matte lipstick from bareMinerals. I grabbed it without a second thought because I already had their BB cream, and it was gorgeous.
The lipstick is matte.
The lipstick has a super convenient brush which applies the lipstick evenly, takes out as much as needed and is really handy when it comes to drawing perfect lip contours.
The formula itself is really great even for the inexperienced. Applies without gaps - you can see it in the swatches. No other item in my lipstick collection gives such a perfect coverage.
The color is a great dark peach for spring and summer. Looks awesome in combination with tanned skin.
Two coats look vivid in the sunlight.
There is even a hint of red undertone:
One coat is more matte, especially in moderate lightning:
Doesn’t bleed or smudge or look clumpy, the lasting power is pretty good - about 3-4 hours. Plus, the lipstick comes off evenly. I use it without any lip pencil. It doesn’t dry my lips out, but provides no moisture either.
Now a few words about its downsides.
The formula is very dry and emphasizes dryness. It looks dry in the creases, but it can be easily fixed by applying a lip balm beforehand.
That’s why I take a star off. There is a very similar color (though more transparent and dewy) in the collection of the Dior Lip Laquers.
However, I appreciate this lipstick’s lasting power and color, and I really like to wear it in spring and summer.
