Hello, pretties!
I fell for the Bobbi Brown products after trying out her Instant Confidence Stick. That was all due to that stick that made me try out other products. Since then I keep falling and falling in love with many of them. ♥
Today I’m on air with a highlighter.
Name: BOBBI BROWN Glow Stick
Shade: Bikini
There are several shades available in the line, though at the time I was purchasing it, there were only three in stock, so I had almost nothing to choose from - Desert Sun, Island Plum and Bikini, and the Bikini shade seemed to be the most natural-looking. Such a golden rose color.
Weight: everything isn’t easy here. All the sticks have the 9g stated on the official site. But in reality, mine has 7g.
Price: $36
Texture: cream and very pleasant to the touch.
Casing: simple strict tube. Nothing odd here but it looks so stylish and expensive.
What does the product say:
Like sunshine in a stick—this creamy, lightweight highlighter glides on skin to deliver an instant, sun-kissed glow that lasts all day. Available in shimmer, soft shimmer and flat finishes.
What do I say:
It’s not just a highlighter. It’s a multitasking product for everything - for your cheekbones, eyes or lips, it works fine everywhere.
As a highlighter - apply the glow stick for a delicate finish or layer it for the “visible from across the road” effects. It’ll be a little bit tricky to get a glowing effect with it. At first, I pat it into my skin, then blend out with my fingertips and only after that swipe over with a brush. If I want to get a more prominent effect, then I don’t use a brush in the end. As for the diamond shine, I just apply it right from the stick and blend out the edges only.
I won’t tell you where and how to apply this product, everyone knows about it already. As an eyeshadow - you won’t even have to blend here. Just a couple of strokes and everything is done beautifully.
As a lip gloss - here it’s very simple. But make sure to apply it over a lip balm or a chapstick, because the stick can dry out your lips.
I don’t wear it as an eyeshadow or a lip gloss on a daily basis. After all, it’s for other purposes.
And some swatches for you by different lights - before and after blending.
I can’t say that it “plays” in the sun but it definitely looks gorgeous!
And even though this glowing stick is awesome, I still don’t use it often. For me, those chunky shimmering bits are too obvious. I want a more delicate finish from it. I don’t even know how to describe it well - no shimmer, only glow. :)Yet still, I won’t take off stars for it. The product is great. :)Thanks for your attention!
Shine bright like a diamond ♥
