Hello there! I don’t like experimenting with mascaras. The thing is that I have several Holy Grails and I don’t want to try out any new ones. I was presented with this Chanel Inimitable Extreme Mascara Pure Black so I had to try it out.
So, what do we have? The product looks decent: it was packed in a box and also wrapped with a thin white paper cover that hid the white tube.
This is what it looks like:
At first sight, the product might really seem good quality.
The brush is silicone with some rare bristles of different length on both sides of it.
The color is the blackest black! The stopper is also good. It allows as much product as I need.
And that’s it. I’ve done listing the good things about it.
My natural lashes are okay: they’re rather long and lifted. However, they’re fair and volume-less. So, from my mascara I need:
1. Volume
2. Separation
3. Good hold (my eyes are watery)
These are my nude lashes:
The first thing that I paid attention to when I first used it was its too runny consistency (when it dries down it turns into a gel, which is even worse). When I apply it, my lashes don’t seem to take it and remain still nude with a slight hint of black color.
“Separation, that’s great!” - I used to think when applied the second coat and it was a disaster. My lashes were clumped, volume-less and besides, my eyelids were stained.
By the way, it’s almost impossible to apply this mascara on my lower lashes. It just stains my skin and leaves the same nude lashes in the end.
I was so disappointed that just covered it up with my favorite mascara from L’Oreal.
Now, I can see only one use for this product, to comb and blacken my previously applied mascara. Yet, only till the moment this one doesn’t thicken and start to perform awfully.
So, that’s it. Maybe, there are some of you who love this mascara.
Maybe I’ve got a fake of something. Or maybe my lashes are wrong for it. No one knows for sure. But this is not the first time when I’m left disappointed with the high-end mascaras.
Thank you for your time! Stay tuned!
