I think that everybody is dreaming of finding their perfect nude lipstick, Jennifer Lopez beautiful lips. Can you remember those times when we used to cover up our lips with a concealer, and then use a lip gloss over it? Yuck! I do remember!
So, Charlotte Tilbury knew about the demands of beautyholics and created a perfect pink-beige lipstick. But now we tend to associate such lips with Kim Kardashian, rather than with J. Lo.
So, meet the lipstick, named after the queen of Instagram Kim Kardashian.
Charlotte Tilbury is undoubtedly a high-end brand, this is why there’s nothing bad to be said about the lipstick package-wise. The box has a lot of information about the product on it, while inside there’s that ideal lipstick itself.
The tube of rose gold color (which doesn’t want to show any rose pigment in the photos and looks plain golden, unfortunately) is rather heavy because it’s made of metal.
It’s obvious that the product is of nice quality and there isn't anything to be picky about package-wise.
The weight of the product is 3.5 and was made in Italy.
This is what they advise us to do on the packaging.
The lipstick has the lightest, sweet and vanilla aroma, which doesn’t irritate me at all. The smell vanishes very quickly right after application.
The lipstick has a creamy texture and it applies really beautifully over my lips. It doesn’t dry out or tighten my skin during wear. Even though the color of the product is pretty fair and usually such shades can be patchy, this lipstick has an amazing color pay off and always applies evenly, no matter what I apply it with - a lip brush or right from the stick.
Of course, taking into the account the shade of the lipstick and its consistency, it would be rather silly to expect a long wear time from it. On my lips it stays put for about 4 hours and then it starts vanishing delicately when I eat or speak.
It’s able to leave through some snacks, tea and even a hot chocolate with cream, but it won’t stand through a meal, which is logical.
The color of the lippie is definitely interesting, but be ready to face the music and admit the fact that it looks different on people. Even on my lips it sometimes looks really different. One day I can see that it’s more cool-toned, another day it’s more warm-toned, other days it can even look more with a pink undertone.
I actually don’t have such fair lipstick shades in my collection, this is why I compared it with those exemplars of nude lipsticks that I have.
I want to show you how different it can look.
Here I applied the lipstick over my slightly powdered lips. What’s more, I paired it with a lip liner by the same brand.
I like this little hint on 90s on my lips, this is why I left the liner a little bit badly blended out.
And here you can see the lipstick over my nude lips.
My natural lip pigment is pretty bright and the lippie hid it well, though it hasn’t changed it, but only adjusted to my lip color beautifully.
This is what actually happens with all my lipsticks. That’s why I usually powder my lips before any lipstick application.
You may think that the lipstick formula settled in my fine lines a little, BUT! First of all, it’s obvious only if you look very close at my lips, secondly, the lipstick is able to adjust to your lip relief during wear and some time after the application, it’ll even out itself.
This is how it looks in action. The pictures were taken within 5-10 minutes after applying.
You can see the natural finish as it is. I mean the product doesn’t dry out my lips, but at the same time it doesn’t give any moisture to them either.
For such a fair nude lipstick, this result is just fantastic!
Plus, if you have only this lipstick, it means that you have a thousand makeup looks with it and you can be sure that it’ll always look different. You can wear it alone, or apply over different nude lip liners, or apply only to the center of your lips as an accent shade. The list can be endless. I’m sorry, but I forgot to take pictures of different looks, alas.
You can order it online for $34.
It’s not actually really affordable, though the lipstick is big and it’ll be good enough to use within a couple of years for sure.
Do I like this product?
Of course I do! Starting from a luxury-looking packaging and finishing with its performance over my lips.
That’s objective but still yes. There aren’t any downsides about this product for me. If I were rational, I’d say “maybe” because I do believe that it’s possible to find the same nude-looking lipstick for a less amount of money. I just was lucky enough to face a nude lipstick with the same characteristics as this one.
Thanks for your attention!
