Hi!
The matte finish is still all the rage right now. Clinique was no exception and produced lipsticks with such finish
Today I’d like to share my thoughts on the Clinique Pop Liquid Matte Lip Colour + Primer.
To begin with, the product has a hefty price.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Manufacturer: Italy
Volume: 6 ml
Expiry date: 3 years
DESIGN
All products of the brand come in a pretty matte green packagings.
The packaging has all the information about the product. The tube is nice and matte. I won’t be describing the design long, as I doubt that anybody is interested in it.
INGREDIENTS
SMELL
All Clinique products are 100% fragrance free. Therefore the lipstick doesn’t have any smell. I don’t feel anything on my lips.
TEXTURE AND COLOR
I’ve chosen the coldest shade. The others were too vibrant and flashy. The texture is creamy and nice.
USE
The lipstick applies with ease. It doesn’t dry out fast, so if you’ve applied too much, there is a chance to correct it. However, I’m not sure about the other vibrant shades.
The applicator wand is convenient and contours my lips well.
EFFECT
Why are such shades tricky?
The thing is that they can be streaky. It happens with high-ends too. This lipstick has impressed me, however. It is not streaky at all and applies evenly.
The lipstick after application:
As I’ve already said, it doesn’t dry out instantaneously. I don’t know if it’s good or bad, but you always have time to correct your lip makeup. Whenever you want your lips to look matte quicker, you can dab them with a tissue.
Now I’m going to show you the lipstick by different lights:
The sale assistant told me that the lipstick was long-lasting. However, it couldn’t survive snacking. So, it doesn’t deliver on the promise
The lipstick comes off gradually and evenly, which is a plus. So, the lip makeup is very easy to touch up.
The lack of longevity is not an issue for me, though. The main complaint I have about it is that it leaves a yucky white line between my lips
Here is a photo after 4 hours of wear and a snack:
The white line appears and it looks disgusting. I wondered how to remove it and decided to dab my lips a teeny bit right after applying the lipstick. It works
Summing up, I’d like to list the pros:
1. Beautiful color range;
2. Doesn’t dry out my lips AT ALL! It nourishes them and makes them soft. Look at the picture! There are no dry patches to be seen
3. Applies well. It doesn’t set into lip lines, but can accentuate some imperfections just a little.
4. Applies evenly without any streaks.
5. Comes off gradually.
6. Doesn’t flow.
7. Visually boosts my lips
Cons:
Leaves a white line
not long-lasting
pricey
I’ve decided to give it 4 stars. It doesn’t dry out my lips, but moisturizes them, which is awesome. However, it leaves this yucky white line.
CONCLUSION
I would recommend Clinique Pop Liquid™ Matte Lip Colour + Primer despite the cons.
