Hello pretty ladies! Smile

Even though the fashion for red shades in makeup is slowly shifting to more lavender and lilac hues, I’m still somehow drawn to blue colors, which flatter me a lot, by the way.

This summer, the ColourPop brand released two brand new eyeshadow palettes. One of them is red toned while the other is blue. And today I’ll speak about the blue one.

ColourPop Mar Eyeshadow Palette!

The design of the palette differs from other palettes which were released before. It isn’t cardboard but made of plastic. The lettering is applied with a teal color and it doesn’t vanish. The top lid comes with a classic click closure mechanism. It opens up with 180 degrees. Inside you’ll find a mirror, but no brush or sponge applicator were provided.

The weight of one refill pan is 1.10g.

Made in the USA

The ColourPop brand doesn’t test on animals.

ColourPop Mar Eyeshadow Palette includes 9 eyeshadow shades of 2 textures: matte (3 shades) and shimmers (6 shades).

Honestly, I was impressed with the quality of these products.

The mattes are a little bit dry texture-wise, though they are still nicely packed with pigments. They sit well on my finger as well as on a brush and the color payoff is on fleek. They are a little dusty (the blue shades are the dustiest). The blending is rather fuss-free and none of the shades require a build-up. The shimmers are like buttery by touch. It feels as though the pigment jumps on the brush itself and later I don’t have any problems with distributing it on my skin. They never require any mumbo-jumbo like wet brush application or a special primer. However, the fair golden and rusty red shades might be exceptions here. The products don’t crease but if your eyes are hooded or your skin is oily, I still think that it’ll be better to apply them over a primer. I always wear my eyeshadows with a primer, so I don’t ever face any problems with their performance like creasing or fading away.

So now I’d like to show you the colors closer.

I separated the shades in rows.

The upper row (from the left to the right):

El Rey - shimmer fair golden-orange

Wild One - shimmer fire dark orange copper

Detour - matte cobalt

Boozy - shimmer warm yellowish-orange

Gridlock - shimmer teal

Sorbet - matte dark beige with terracotta undertones

HWY - shimmer light seafoam green

Top Down - matte cool-toned dark brown

My Way - shimmer bronze-copper

And a swatch of all the shades together:

As you can see it from the colors, the palette isn’t self-sufficient, it’s just a supplement to any other that you have. One can create a makeup look with it but the palette doesn’t provide any shades for setting a primer or the colors for blending. But no one has promised it to be basic. It’s just a fact. So now, the most interesting - my makeup looks. I’ll show you 5 makeups which I managed to do using this eyeshadow palette.

For this makeup look I used the shades El Rey, Boozy, Sorbet, Top Down and My Way:

You might have already seen this makeup when I reviewed the ColourPop Jelly Much Shadow, which works here as a base for a mixture of Gridlock, HWY and Sorbet colors.

For this bronzy makeup I used the shades El Rey, Wild One, Detour, Gridlock, Sorbet, Top Down:

Blue smokey eyes with the star of the palette Detour color, adorned with the shades Top Down and HWY:

And my favorite makeup - a gradient wing with the shades El Rey, Boozy, HWY, Gridlock, Top Down:

This ColourPop Mar Eyeshadow Palette has turned out to be rather interesting, even though it has only a third of the bright shades to it. It is inspiring and I always want to reach it. Isn’t that the most important thing about an eyeshadow palette?

It’s almost perfect. I’m sure that it’ll beautifully fit into your collection, if you still don’t have any bronzy-copper or blue eyeshadows.

Price - $12

Thanks for your attention and have an enjoyable shopping spree! Wink
