If I were asked to make up only one part of my face before leaving home, I would definitely do my brows.
My brows are sparse and I always keep on testing different brow products. This is how I decided to try this ColourPop Precision Brow Pencil with an ultra-thin refill.
Made by ColourPop Cosmetics (USA)
Product: brow pencil
Price: $5.50
I highly recommend you wait for a sale on their official site because they sometimes have 30% off or even more! Moreover, from time to time they offer coupons. For example, I bought this product during a Black Friday sale for $3.50.
Weight: 0.09g
Outer appearance: it’s thin and long. The plastic is lightweight. The caps are safe and also plastic.
Ingredients:
Ethylhexyl Stearate, Polyethylene, Isoeicosane, Synthetic Beeswax, Silica, Tocopherol;
MAY CONTAIN: Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Manganese Violet (CI 77742), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891).
Scent: none
Texture: creamy, thick and rather stiff. But it doesn’t scratch my skin.
Finish: matte, smooth application, almost no clumps.
Refill: it’s very thin and the line behind it looks like from a gel pen, even thinner! It’s perfect for faking your brow hairs. The refill doesn’t twist back.
Spending: it won’t go a long way. Besides, there’s not much of it at all.
Use: fill in your brows and comb them with a spoolie brush afterward.
Time: I have to spend a lot of time to do my brows. You see, I need the thinnest lines. It goes three times faster when I use a brow pomade.
Shade: the color selection is huge. The official site offers 9 shades to choose from, starting from the cool blond and finishing with charcoal black shades.
Performance and results:
What the hell? This shade is somehow too red for my eyebrows and it doesn’t work for sparse brows at all.
Have a look at my brows filled in with the same shade Dope Taupe of a brow pomade from ColourPop:
I like that smoother result with the pomade, while the pencil applies with patches and I guess that the pencil is only to fake some desired hairs and not for filling in your brows.
I don’t get that difference in the undertones truly.
Staying power: it is long-wearing. It stays put the entire day like the pomade.
Overall:
the product is highly pigmented;
it’s long-wearing;
the refill is very thin;
it’s good for faking desired hairs
the shade Taupe is actually red
I don’t recommend it!
Thanks for reading my review! ♥
