Before I met the Lime Crime Plushes lipsticks, it was very difficult for me to find the right way for the matte lipsticks. The only matte lipsticks that I was more or less flattered by was the matte metallic from Cartrice.
But I’ve almost used it up now and it’s time to find a dupe. So, today we’ll talk about Ultra metallic lip from ColourPop.

Packaging
All the ColourPop lipsticks come in thick paper boxes. The metallic collection is adorned with holographic lettering. The box wasn’t sealed but I’m sure in the official site.

The tube is pretty standard. It’s small and see-through.
The felt-tip applicator is minute and not furry. It isn’t perfect but still usable. The stopper is great because it isn’t stiff yet doesn’t let the product come out.

Shade and texture:
Currently, the Ultra Metallic Lip collection offers 11 shades. Mine is one of the lightest and it’s called Fever Pitch. It’s a golden-pink metallic which isn’t vibrant yet still shifting in the sun and light sensitive.

The formula is lightweight, semi-opaque and a little bit patchy. However, it’s thicker than my fave from Catrice.

The Fever Pitch shade turned out to be very similar to my 020 Frame of Roses, so I found the dupe.
Unfortunately, the Ultra metallic lip seems patchy on my lips but it’s not so obvious because of the metallic sheen. In fact, the product can be applied well but you’ll have to put in some effort. :)

The formula sets quickly and it doesn’t lose its shine. My lips aren’t dry but they still feel a little bit tugged. The staying power is good during the day. It starts fading from my inner lip, while the rest stays on till the evening.
I can feel it present on my lips for some time after application but later I guess I just get used to it. When it fades, I can also detect some clump but they can be removed easily. The same would happen with the Catrice lipstick. Besides, that one also had some specific flavor which Ultra metallic lip lacks.
If I were to compare them, I’d say that Ultra metallic lip is more comfortable to wear than Ultra Blotted Lip, which isn’t logical.
Makeup
Shade Fever Pitch is matchy with the sunny peach Sweet Talk palette, so I pair them a lot:

Fever Pitch brings me joy with its unhackneyed shade and complicated finish. But it still stays gentle and fits the bill for daytime makeup.
So, I’m pleased with this Ultra metallic lip and keep on using it with pleasure. And of course, I recommend it!
However, it has some downsides like a patchy finish and time-consuming application for smooth coverage.
If you opt for the closest shade to Fever Pitch, this problem won’t be so obvious but I guess that the darker shades might be failures.
So, I can recommend only the Fever Pitch shade
