Honestly, I got tired of the trendy matte coverage...I was yearning for something spring-like and fresh! And then I saw the Dior commercial which promised a lacquered lip ink...I haven’t had anything like this before!
I ordered it online and chose a color which seemed to be nude and not too bright. It was 456 Pretty Dior.
And now I have it! The lip ink comes housed in a cute bottle and is pleasant to the touch.
The first plumping lacquered lip ink by Dior that provides long-wear color, intense lacquered shine, and an incredibly comfortable texture.
Dior Addict Lacquer Plump kicks into action upon contact with the lips to reveal its bold color, and radiant lacquer finish.Mere seconds after applying, color and shine fuse into a fine, airy film while plumping the lips.
The first thing that surprised me was the color. It’s neither nude nor neutral. I’d call it ‘berry’. Since it’s one of the lightest in the range I suppose there are no nude colors at all.
The application wasn’t easy either. Since it doesn’t provide thick coverage it’s pretty hard to apply the product evenly. If you look closely, you’ll see those gaps:
The lip ink gives such a pleasant cooling effect without over-drying my lips, thanks to the hyaluronic acid.
Even though the look on the lips resembles that of a lip gloss, there is no stickiness at all.
What about the lasting power...after a snack, the gloss left my lips completely leaving nothing but a berry tint behind. The only minus is that when the gloss disappeared, the uneven coverage became even more visible.
It’s hard to judge whether there is the lip plumping effect or not, but I think it was directly connected with the gloss, so once the gloss disappeared, there wasn’t a lip plumping effect either.
I’m not sure how I feel about it. I’m not disappointed. But neither am I thrilled.
I won’t try other colors from the range.
