Hello everyone!
I don’t know why but I only met the Dior Backstage collection, I mean their lip palette this spring and really fell for it. ❤️
Somehow, it doesn’t have many reviews and I hardly ever can see the swatches of the shades on the lips. That’s so disappointing because the swatches are what we’re all here for. So, let’s get it started.
Product main info:
Made in France
Size: 8g
Price: $49
Design: like many other products from the collection, this palette looks simple. Plastic casing with a see-through lid. It isn’t a problem to open and you can see the shades of the lippies through. It closes with a safe click.
But where the hell is the luxury of the high-end inspiration? In my opinion, the design is too simple. But, these small things are of minor importance. :)The back of the palette shows the
shades and their
finishes.
There’s no
mirror or a
brush provided.
The casing was inspired by the brand:
The products don’t have any aroma or I just don’t feel it.
All in all, there are 9 shades:
3 top ones are
lip glosses;
3 in the middle provide a satin finish.
3 at the bottom are matte shades;
All the 9 shades are easy to apply with a brush as well as with my fingertip (I prefer the second option more often 🙈).
The products aren’t tacky at all.
They are comfortable on my lips and feel like lip balms.
Let’s have at the shades in action and I’ll also tell you some details about them all.
1 line, lip glosses. 3 light semi-sheer shades.
Pink and Beige can be a little bit creasing like many other similar lip gloss shades.
Blush is way better.
2 line, satin finish.
Honey is a shade with an orange undertone. It can define my flaking lips and crease on my inner lip.
Peach is a gentle and beautiful beige which has awesome performance and a gorgeous look.
Rosewood is my favorite shade. It’s the best in the line, the gentlest with light and pink undertone. 😍
3 line, matte finish.
These shades apply worse than other 6 and may have patchy finishes.
Amber is a little bit red matte shade.
Burgundy is a berry vibrant color.
For me,
Berry has turned out the be the best out of all mattes. Such a noble vinous shade. 🍷
All the shades can be packed which makes the payoff brighter and bolder. They don’t bleed or feather.
I was also surprised to discover their staying power of the satin finish and matte lippies. They can easily live through a bite and coffee with a sandwich. I don’t even have to touch-up afterwards.
I’m in love with this palette. The shades are versatile and they’ll fit the bill for any occasion. There are some gripes about them but in general, the palette rocks my socks off.
