It’s been a while since I've posted any lipstick reviews here. It’s time to get up to speed now.

Today I’m bringing you my review of the matte lipstick collection from D&G. Guys, honestly, it is something. Just a bomb!

Packaging It’s black, golden and all glossy. Simple, yet sleek package, which is rather heavy btw. The stick is nicely-shaped and it’s so handy to outline my lips with (but I hope that you do remember that it’s still better to use a lip liner beforehand, right?).

The texture is creamy and the stick glides over my lips with ease. The aroma is sweet and unobtrusive, such a retro scent, so to speak.

My shades (from the right to the left):

132 Dolce Natural - beigy-pink nude. It’s definitely tough to describe right because the shade is a chameleon. Sometimes it appears pink, sometimes it’s neutral and sometimes I can make out some sandy notes to it for sure. But, anyway, it always looks stunning, accentuating my lips, making them a popping feature on my face. This is the most matte one from my collection.

643 Desire - it’s such a saturated red shade with a cool crimson undertone. It isn’t vinous, but very close. This lipstick is a feast, an adornment. It’s just that very case when men turn around when I’m wearing it. Sometimes it shines with a metal finish. It’s an awesome color. I haven’t had anything of the kind in my collection before. I feel like Monica Bellucci with this color on, it’s true.

333 Inferno - ripe plum. This one is also a chameleon and it shifts from vinous to blueberry. Such shades are always a pain in the ass to apply. And this very lipstick is half the exception. Yes, the coverage doesn’t seem to be even but it’s thick and rather opaque. A lip liner applied beforehand brings it to the perfect side.

My impressions

In a word - these are the lipsticks which are definitely worth the splurge.

Their soft and unusual texture feels creamy at first, but after the application, it feels like it sets, yet still provides all those comforting feelings. No drying out to my lips.

The finish is semi-matte/satin with a bright and saturated color payoff.

As for the wear time, well it’s average, like of any other stick lipstick. They start fading from my inner lip within 4 hours. They aren’t transfer-proof and they will never stand fatty food. You can feel free to drink and have a bite with them on. However, I always use lip liners with these lipsticks for the better color payoff and extended wear time.

And one more thing, it’s such a pleasure just to take one of these babes out of my purse. I mean it!

Price: $33 each
