Today I’m sharing my thoughts on the Matte Lip Color by E.L.F. Cosmetics.
I know the brand and I even have read some reviews of its products but you know there was always something that stopped me from purchasing.
And finally, here is my first product by E.L.F. Cosmetics. I wasn’t upset by the product at all. On the contrary, I’m very pleased with it.
I’ll start with the shade. It’s called Natural.
I’d describe the color as beige, with changing undertone from faint pink to grey lilac, depending on the light.
You can wear this shade anywhere and anytime as it’s always in its place because of its color that isn’t obtrusive or bold yet it’s so beautiful.
The texture of the lipstick is creamy, soft and buttery. The application is easy and even. It does not accentuate patches or peeling. The product doesn’t set into the fine lines.
You can build up coverage if you want.
At first I can feel the product present on my lips but after setting I almost don’t feel it.
During the wear the product doesn’t dry out or tighten my lips. After the removing I also don’t experience any discomforting feelings.
As for the removing....it’s easy-breezy. Even a regular tissue will cope with removing this lippie.
Straight after application, the finish looks satin, but within a few minutes it sets to almost matte and opaque coverage.
The pigmentation is great, as it covers up my natural lip color totally.
The staying power is also a praise. 3-4 hours without meals, though. If you eat, I’m sure you’ll eat the product fully from the lips.
The product stains everything it touches. The stains aren’t very well visible, I’d say they are difficult to notice.
Almost no scent to the formula, as well as taste.
You can apply it without a lip liner, as the lippie won’t feather or budge. But if you want to define your lips contour, then of course a lip liner will help you.
The design is very interesting, it looks like a jumbo pencil.
The quality of the stick is excellent. The plastic is thick and all the letters look fine.
The top cap opens and closes tightly and sits well on the stick.
The twist up part works well and twists up and down the inner part without any problems.
The product was initially packed into a cardboard box, which was also nicely designed. There you can find some product info.
Oh, yes, the product has a small sharpener. It’s placed in the upper part of the stick, under the pink cap.
