Hello ladies!
I have to confess that concealer isn’t my favorite makeup product. I usually neglect it even though I can see that every year my need for concealer is growing rapidly.
Today I’m sharing my thoughts on the Estee Lauder Double Wear Concealer.
The design is rather neat yet it still has a hint of the high-end frills to it. The bottom part is made of transparent plastic. The lettering doesn’t fade and the cap doesn't scratch.
I have a mini of the product, which is 1.9ml, while the full sized tube has 7 ml of the product.
Made in Belgium
The concealer has a creamy and thicker than usual concealer consistency. It’s easy to apply and blend on the skin, as it isn’t too “clingy”. Be quick to blend it out, as the product sets and dries down fast.
On the one hand, it’s a definite advantage as the formula won’t travel during the day and you don’t even have to set it with powder.
Estee Lauder Double Wear Concealer has a small furry applicator which is so convenient to work with.
There’s some perfume agent that is so usual for the all Estee Lauder face products. It’s rather potent, though it fades after application.
I have my product in the color 02 Light Medium which has a slight tan shade that really flatters my skin tone but it won’t work well for highlighting some face features.
This color will be too dark for fair skinned girls. On my hand it looks dark, though believe me, in makeup it looks fine. I guess it’s adjustive, as straight after the application I can see some difference in color, but it disappears within 5 minutes and then my complexion looks fine.
I bought this product as an under eye concealer and I can say that it works fine there. The coverage is medium/thick, depending on what you apply it with. I also tried it out as a skin blemish concealer. And again, it works wonders with my skin - all the acne spots disappear as well as reddening and blood vessels.
The wear is very comfortable, as the product doesn’t dry out or tighten my skin. But still keep in mind that your skin has to be moisturized and nourished before any concealer application. If you have dry under eye skin with small fine lines, then it’ll be better to toss this product.
I can’t say that I have very big dark circles. They are here on my face and I want to conceal them. But at the same time I want to keep my skin’s relief natural and not to look like a plastic doll.
I apply the foundation very close to my eyes in dots and blend it out with the applicator.
If I blend out the concealer with a damp sponge then the coverage will be less thick.
While fingertip application will reveal the maximum of coverage.
And before and after shots
I presume that the result is great. The concealer looks nice and all the dark circles aren’t here anymore.
The staying power is great till the removing.
I don’t set it with powder during the day. It doesn’t set into fine lines, even if I apply too much.
Estee Lauder Double Wear Concealer does everything it promises - camouflages dark under eyes as well as skin blemishes. It’s very comfortable in use and longwearing. I use it everyday now and I like the result.
I recommend this product for you if you have some skin problems to conceal or if you're just a high-end cosmetics junkie.
Price - $28 for the full size.
