For some years I was using the Korean BB creams and used to think that I would NEVER buy the usual foundation again. My favorite was and still is Missha Perfect Cover #21 because it doesn’t settle into my pores, it’s long-lasting and has SPF. I can really recommend it.
But, if you need your foundation to look as though just applied, even after 15 hours of wearing, you should definitely try out the Double Wear.
This foundation is the best-selling product by Estee Lauder. It’s among the faves by many beauty bloggers, photographers, and everybody who needs the long-lasting make-up coverage.
I was wandering around the stores, reading the reviews, testing it on my arms and cheeks for a very very long time. And, all in all, decided to buy it.
The foundation was packed in an heavy glass matte bottle. It looks very beautiful and expensive. It has NO PUMP, which means that you’ll need to pour the product on your arm or something. It’s annoying for a lot of people, but still, the product continues to be the best-selling in the brand.
My color is 1N2 Ecru. It’s the most popular one, judging by the pile of reviews and swatches.
1N2 Ecru is a light color with beige and yellow undertones. There’s NO pinkish pigment.
Consistency-wise, the product is rather liquidy (it’s still a mystery for me, how it can combine this liquid consistency and full coverage together). It has a very pleasant scent, typical for the Estee Lauder products. The color may look a little bit yellow in winter, but still, it won’t look like a mask on a face.
I don’t have any visible skin problems. My my face is freckled, and I want to say that not at all any foundation can cope with my freckles and hide them. But Double Wear managed to do so!
I tried to apply this foundation with
- my fingertips
- brush
- beauty blender
I like the third option best of all. If I apply it with the beauty blender, I get the lightweight coverage, but still very long-lasting and full.
This is how my skin looks with this foundation on:
Advantages:
-long-lasting (it stays for about 12-15 hours- I just had no chance to continue my experiments)
-it conceals all the skin blemishes and imperfections really well
-it doesn't settle into pores
-it mattifies my skin almost immediately. It takes just 1-2 minutes to set.
- it matches well with any dry or creamy textures (blush, highlighter, bronzer) and isn’t smudged while application.
-AND CONSIDERING ALL THESE ASPECTS, THE PRODUCT ISN’T SEEN ON THE FACE AT ALL! My skin looks sleek and beautiful.
Disadvantages:
-its coverage is really matte. To date, the healthy glow is all the rage, be ready because you won’t get it from this product (if only you don't mix it with moisturising primer, for example)
-the price. If used daily, the bottle will last for 2 months or a bit longer. Considering the price, it’s expensive, isn’t it?
-it may roll up or settle into the fine lines or laugh lines
And now the photo of the foundation on my face in a few hours after the application.
1)I applied it at 7 am and took a photo at 6 pm.
The product slightly faded from my nose, it’s because of my habit to constantly touch it.
2) I applied it at 7 am and took a photo at 21 pm
The product faded only on a nose again. The blush and highlighter are still there.
Overall:
This is a really cool foundation! I adore it! It stays through everything - cold, heat, gym, rain, snow. It’ll stay with you in any situation!
It suits perfectly well for photoshoots or festive occasions.
If you want to look gorgeous and not to touch-up every half an hour, then Double Wear must become a constant resident of your make-up bag.
Unfortunately, I’ve already run out of my bottle with this foundation, but I’ll definitely buy one more, because it’s just the Holy Grail product. I wish it had a lower price, because I would have bought a ton of it!
