Pros: gentle color of the meteorites, there’s almost no shine
Cons: no puff included, price tag

Everybody knows about meteorites. They are a staple product of the Guerlain brand! This year they turned thirty, that’s why they decided to launch their birthday collection.

It was in 1987 when they first released their pearls powder, which was to make a girl's complexion glowy.

Are you interested to see the birthday product? I read that the pearls have become matte this time. Is it true? Let’s find it out together and have a thorough look at the Guerlain Meteorites Birthday Candle Pearls.

Package

It’s a traditional box of gentle peach color with the product’s name on it.

Inside they placed a metal box with the meteorites, which looks very girly and cute. The box closes tightly.

Then after opening the top cap you’ll see that the meteorites are covered with a transporting sponge. Guerlain, are you kidding me? A piece of rubber in a birthday collection?! You should have placed a beautiful and fluffy puff here. I’m so frustrated.

Pearls

This collection offers more subtle and not so bright and colorful pearls in the collection:

1. pink and satin meteorites - they are the brightest here

2. white - they are matte and chalky

3. golden pearls have small grained shimmer to them

4. light-beigy meteorites are small and really look like small creamy colored pearlescent gems with shimmer

All in all there are two types of shine here - one is with the smallest shimmer and the other is with the pearlescent casting.

Results on my skin

I have to confess and say that it took me a really long time to walk around with my meteorites, trying to catch their beautiful cast with the camera. I only managed to do it in the sunset light. Here I applied the powder with a rather good layer on the left side of my hand, polishing it into my skin with a brush.

I want to tell you that it’ll be extremely difficult to get the same shining results on your face with these meteorites. I mean this is the maximum that you can get with this Meteorites Birthday Candle Pearls. On your skin you’re more likely to get a very subtle and delicate glow (yet it still be visible) which will look more satin-like.

Smell

Nothing new here: these meteorites have a violet smell which is so traditional for the Guerlain products.

Overall

These pearls aren’t matte after all! There’s still a tad of shimmer to them and they really make my skin glowy. I guess that these are even more glowy than the Christmas Meteorites Perles De Legende. I guess this collection will be great for you, if you’re looking for a more satin and glowy finish and don’t want to see any shimmer on your skin.

You can easily fit Meteorites Birthday Candle Pearls in your daily makeup game, even if you have a dress code at work.

In all the other respects I don’t see anything special about this product. This package surprised me more with its plain package. In my opinion, even the classic package looks more interesting and attractive. This is why I take off one star.

I recommend this product in two cases:

1. If you’re a fan or a collector of the meteorites by the brand

2. If you want to have meteorites but you’re too afraid of the shimmer shine on your skin
