And here’s me back with the Hourglass face palette. On the official site this Holiday palette is already sold out but still there are some on the Sephora.com. Recently I made a review of the Marble palette by Hourglass (Volume 2) also a limited edition of 2016 and let’s find out is the Volume 3 as good as the previous one?
Packaging. Shiny golden palette which is exceptionally beautiful. It’s a massive fingerprints collector though. It closes with a click. Inside you’ll find a very big and quality mirror.
There are 6 products in the palette:
Ambient Lighting Powder Diffused Light is a finishing powder of ivory shade with warm undertones (it can be find in the general collection)
Ambient Strobe Lighting Powder Hypnotic Strobe Light is ultra naturally looking highlighter of the champagne shade (this one can be found only in this palette)
Ambient Lighting Powder Dim Light - a finishing powder of neutral and light beige color (presents in the general collection)
Ambient Lighting Bronzer Luminous Bronze Light - warm bronzing powder with golden undertones and satin finish (presents in the general collection)
Ambient Lighting Blush Surreal Halo - blush of deep berry-like color with golden shimmer (new product by the brand)
Ambient Lighting Blush Pure Effect - satin blush of tender peachy-pink color (new one in the brand)
All the products in the palette are superb in my opinion! Diffused Light is perfect for under eye area, as it gently highlights it making it look very fresh and beautiful.
Dim Light is a finishing powder that can be applied over the entire face. I’m obsessed with it for sure and I genuinely think that it’s a cult product by the brand. It visually evens out the skin’s relief making my skin look healthy and “expensive”.
I like this highlighter more than the one from the marble palette, as that one was too yellow for my skin type, while this one looks rather neutral. If applied one layer, it gives beautiful lit from within effect, and if applied two layers the shimmer is visible.
The bronzing powder will not suit the fair skinner ones. You should be either with yellow skin undertone or tanned or with darker complexion. It creates a beautiful tanned effect on the skin that doesn’t look fake or unnatural. Thanks to the satin finish the skin looks as though lit from within and very healthy.
The blush is very healthy and natural looking. It’s impossible to overdo with it, as the blending is very light. It makes my skin very healthy looking.
With the Surreal Halo blush
With the Pure Effect blush
General conclusion. All the products by Hourglass are finely grinned. That’s why the application is so easy. I love them because they are ephemeral and natural looking. And the palette packaging is an ideal way to get to know with the brand. The separate products cost a lot but that doesn’t mean that the palette is cheap. It costs $80. But considering that there are 6 products to it, well that’s obviously worthy. The Hourglass brand is something close to Tom Ford. A heavy luxe, but it’s definitely worthy a try.
